As we approached UC check-in there was a queue of one so we waited a couple of minutes and then tried to check in ( i had booked with Virgin Holidays). There was a bit of confusion about our tickets which meant we had to move away down to another section where we waited for an assistant to check with someone else and then get their computer altered to show us as UC. We then went and checked in again, this time with more success. I was a bit annoyed and there was no apology from anyone for what was a VA system fault.
Got through the security, quick looksee round the shops at terminal 3 and then into the lounge. This was my second time here this year and it was busier than before but the service was good. Got booked in for a facial (recommend it), a few glasses of bubbly, lots to eat and eventually got called for the 2200hrs flight.
Got shown to our seats, settled down and accepted another glass of bubbly. They have changed from the wide rimmed glasses to the more sensible flute type glass.
Flight was around 25mins late taking off as they has to offload someones baggage but then the flight was fine, the service went quickly with the usual pre dinner drinks. I opted for the Filet steak (V nice) and pudding (profiteroles, had better) then had a glass of port before making the seat up into a bed.
Managed a couple of hours sleep (way to hot in the cabin) before waking for breakfast. After having some poor quality cooked breakfast from Boston earlier in the year i opted for the non cooked option which was good.
Disembarked a little later than scheduled and made the long walk to immigration, went straight through the fast track business line and we were the second couple there.
Wife's bag was almost instantly off the carousel mine was about a ten minute wait and then off into the limo to the hotel.
All in all it was a good flight, cabin crew were excellent and the UC seating was the same as usual, good if you sleep on your left but not on your side.
Next flight may be back to Boston in the Spring 2015 and will consider UC again.

Yes Alex, been to Dubai six or seven times now and on all but one occasion we stayed at the Jumeirah Beach Hotel, we love the place. May go back again next year.
Temps at the moment are mid to high 30's which is much nicer than the mid to high 40's we are used to when we go in May/June.
Hope you have a great time.

Thanks for the TR , we have booked PE to DXB at the end of May, bit concerned by your comment on the temps. I thought May/June was more likely high 20's to mid 30's ?
Is it really likely to be 40s at the beginning of June?
Not decided on hotel yet but were thinking of the Atlantis as we have a 7 year old who will love the water parks, dolphins etc.
Last time we were in Dubai in 2006 we stayed at the JBH.
Loved it too.
Whats the best way of getting a good rate for JBH, it seems more costly that Atlantis for our dates?

Thanks
