Upper class trip from Edinburgh to Dubai for a few days in the sun. Got to Edinburgh just in time for check in to open got my fast track security and lounge voucher before proceeding to security. Now if anybody has been to Edinburgh airport recently you'll be aware of the huge changes with the new security area which they've been trialling well I was on a little red flight to LHR on the 18th October and used the new monstrosity (I'll leave it at that) horrendous queues and inadequate staffing by Edinburgh airport, needless to say today it's been scrapped and old security area was in use, breezed through in 2 minutes and to the new number 1 lounge. Quite small but adequate with what it offers only 1 niggle, no toilets!?

3006 down to Heathrow, Rosie Lee, perfect flight and busy! Sat beside customers who were repeat users and loved it such a shame it's been scrapped but we have it until next September! Arrived into T2 and onto the flight connection bus. Here is the reason Little Red has been scrapped, 3 connecting passengers. All 3 upper class but still 3

Into T3 and greeted at the clubhouse with a usual welcome back, had something to eat relaxed a bramble and some champagne and I walked down to the gate. Uptown Girl doing the 400 tonight, GVNYC. Was one of the first at the gate so say in the lounge before they announced it was boarding. Here is why ground staff got an average. I walked towards the UC entry door and was swiftly asked "can I see your boarding card please this is only for Upper Class" my face must have been a picture... Card shown the rather embarrassed member of staff shuffled away and wasn't seen again...

Onboard I must be one of very few who actually like the UCDS. Done DXB UC in July and loved it it's super stylish and a real credit to VS. Welcomed onboard by the FSM and then the CSS came up and chatted, spoke about 787 training and he commented I looked very at ease in the upper class cabin, Champagne served and it was ready for push back and take off at approx 21:00.

Once airborne we had a few bumps leaving but other than that a smooth flight, drinks and crisps served. Many opted to go straight to bed on this short flight 6.5hours approx. FSM advised we had 236 passengers onboard. UC and PE were full. Dinner was served, went for the spicy lentil soup followed by the chicken with pumpkin gnocci (delicious I must say). Pudding * (*british for dessert according to VS -always makes me chuckle) was different from menu so I had the lava cake was okay very rich. Will pop on some food photos when I return home. Breakfast card handed in and then sleep. The UCDS is narrow but still adequate I got a good 3 hours sleep. Crying baby alert! A PE customers baby was crying non stop, poor thing, the mother was mortified, However she was standing at the bar... CSS asked her to step into the galley due to UC passengers sleeping

1.5 hours before touchdown and breakfast I chose orange, coffee, yoghurt with granola and apple pancakes with cinnamon butter very nice! Sun rising as we flew over Iran and I watched some IFE. Is it just me or has the IFE gone decidedly Delta? Very americanised with the shows now... Was all good though listened to music and we were on the ground at 8:40. Onto Gate C13 as usual at T1 through immigration within 2 minutes no Qs and Hello Dubai!

Short trip this one return on the 401 tomorrow, economy though However when I return I will have achieved AU status! Woohoo!
