Off to Cuba for a holiday booked through VH; first time there and we were looking forward to it. First UC flight for a few years...

Did the twilight bag drop - huge queue there at 19:30, but there was a single priority desk for UC so saved a lot of time.

Stayed at the LGW Hilton overnight, and into a fairly quiet clubhouse by 08:30 - not bad for a 12:30 departure! Security was simple & quick.

Met by very friendly staff, and settled down for breakfast. I had the full English, and my wife just had a sandwich. I don't like smoked bacon, so that disappointed me (I know some people do like it...) and the portion seemed on the small side, so I topped up with a very nice Cumberland sausage sandwich later.

Moved into the bottom end which was quiet, and settled in for a relaxing wait and a few drinks. Popped out for some shopping and returned for more relaxation.

Called for boarding, and strolled down; priority boarding working well, and only a small queue on the jet bridge before we turned left and settled into 6A & 6K.

Almost completely full flight - it seemed the only empty seats were 4 in UC.

Late departure - some problem with baggage meant we pushed back almost an hour late, and didn't make up any of the time.

Flight was fairly smooth, and good service all the way. Can't remember what we ate but no complaints at all. IFE was fine.

Landed almost an hour late, and deplaned (as usual) after the PE cabin into an immigration hall that had a few people left from an earlier flight but at least we were ahead of the AF flight. (I met someone later who came in on that AF and it took then almost 3 hours to get through the airport!)

Took about 45 minutes to get through and then a long wait for luggage - no UC priority at all, so it took us about 2 hours to get out of the airport to our coach to Havana.

So the usual good flight, and my wife enjoyed it so much she has OK'd UC for next year's holiday to St Lucia - so result!

That certainly does sound like a result, well done for scoring points there! Glad you had a good flight.
