Today at 4pm (27h after I sent my feedback) I received a call from Virgin.
They were very grateful for my feedback both positive and negative. My praise would be passed on to the crew on the outbound leg.
They were still investigating my inbound flight but assured me it would be fedback to the crew on that flight. They acknowledged that all flights should be like my outbound and they were sorry that wasn't the case coming home. They also thanked me for the detail of my observations.
They have credited our FC accounts with 12500 miles as a thanks for the feedback.

A very quick and personal response from VS, I'm really happy with them. I was expecting a response next week if I'm honest.
They also added our miles and tier points from our flights before they called me as they still hadn't shown up due to us flying on M class upgrades, another nice touch.

Well done VS!

Ps: with those extra miles we're already looking at our next reward flight...

Also...they were very keen to get my opinion on the Dreamliner.

Good work, ultreen! Can I ask how you sent your feedback to VS? Did you e-mail them? In which case, which e-mail address did you use?

One things I've noticed (and it could just be a coincidence, of course): M-G upgrades do not always pull in the FC status onto the manifest. With straight revenue fares (in any cabin) and straight reward purchases, though, I notice that FC status is noted. But in my case anyway, M-G upgrades: rarely! Not sure if you were on an M-G, but...

I used the feedback form on the VS website.

I was on a M-G on both flights. On the outbound the manifest was used by the FSM to greet the pax and she mentioned our status. On the inbound no manifest was used by the young lady, it was sir and madam to all. When we walked into the CH in IAD we were greeted but when our names were checked we were welcomed back so something must've shown on her sheet of paper?

That's exactly it. FC status is almost always noted in the CH ('welcome back' etc), and at check-in, but once you get to the plane it's hit and miss if it shows up on the manifest (if you're on an M-G ticket).

If it did or didn't show up I doubt it would have made any difference with the crew I had coming home.
But it definatly showed up on our outbound. The crew at the bar told us there were only 4 golds on board, me, Simon and 2 others in PE.
Hit and miss as with most things :w

Glad to hear about their prompt response. The bonus miles will be useful, and not having to chase up the TP and miles that so seldom register automatically on an M>G upgrade is a nice touch.

Great that you got a response from them and that feedback will be given to the crew. I've found a few inbound flights to be lacking compared to outbound but never to the degree of shoddiness you unfortunately experienced

Those 5 days we were there it was non stop. So I would say 6 days. There's so many mueseums and monuments! A tour of the Capitol building is a must and if you can get into the senate and House of Representatives do it! We were in the senate when senator was talking!

As for our next trip we're flying to EWR in September. Not sure where we will stay but the hamptons are on the table.

Sounds good. I like history so will add DC to my shortlist for 2016, maybe combine it with NYC.
