Arrived at Heathrow early, no queue at Premium check in and the agent was really friendly chatting about our trip.
Boarding was on time but they made an announcement apologising for no priority boarding as they had only one air bridge and they would be boarding strictly by row order starting at the back. I think they held back the Upper passengers in the clubhouse as the cabin was empty when we finally boarded, to be honest it worked quite well as we departed 5 minutes early.
Pre take off drinks were offered by a very friendly crew and we settled in for the flight. You could tell from the moment the FSM made her announcement it was going to be a good flight, she was totally in command up and down throughout the flight chatting to different passengers. Drinks were served quickly followed by the meal service, we both pre ordered the cod fish cake which was pretty good. Surprisingly as we are only Silver and about to become Red the FSM came over and welcomed us back which was a nice touch. I jokingly said to her that there was no whiskey on the premium menu and I was missing the 12 year old malt they serve in upper, 15 minutes later she came back over with a nice glass of whiskey from Upper
Breakfast was served about 1 hour before landing in Dubai, we both had the salmon and it was pretty good. Landed ahead of schedule and another good solid flight from Virgin. We would definitely do premium again on a shorter flight!
