I agree with AlanA that the initial post was a little general and tended to suggest that UC should be kept as an adult only domain. If this was supposed to be a lighthearted comment then maybe your bedside manner needs a little work [:)]. If your comments had formed part of a full TR then we would be better able to take it in context but as it stands it came across as little blunt and very general.

Children - especially young one - do cry occassionally and the important thing to consider is why they are crying and for how long - sometimes the best parents in the world can't stop a two year from crying if he's had a bad dream or hurt him/herself. Slinky's atitude is fantastically enlightening and I like to think that it is an opinion that many share.

Many parents take great pride in how well behaved their children are but still have to suffer the anxious stares of other passengers when they get on board. If a child misbehaves then he/she is an unruly passenger first and a child second. Children certainly do not have a monopoly on bad behaviour nor indeed are all children badly behaved.

I have had enough of this nonsense and can find better things to do with time my time so I am out of here forever!!

I can give everyone here a 100% assurance my kids have never seen me play up, yet they have caused problems when we have travelled around,but being responsible parents we have tried our hardest to ensure the other pax's are not disturbed (too much).

My kids have never seen me do drugs yet I have a son who is a heoin addict, does this mean he learnt that from me or his mother?..me thinks you are talking 'testicles'

Your spot on when mentioning about 'celebs' misbehaving and you can only blame VA for letting them get away with it.

Having had six children and ten grand children to bring up I feel I can comment on kids, though I bet I have been conversing with these highly experienced parents of one child?

I am amazed that one subject can generate such enthusiasm amongst us all? Its been a good read, some laughs, a few heated moments as well.

Virgin have made a big thing of allowing so called 'celebs' to play up in Upper Class and look at it as some form of free publicity. You then cannot expect the monied Chav, or the old money 'I can do as I please' yahoo to behave and this then filters down to the children.
My point was the the original posting made no mention of any unruly behaviour, just a general snooty looking down on 'Kindergarden' i.e. very young children having the audacity to be in Upper Class.
Of course children should try to behave, but as you have said, its eight hours and anyone who has children knows that this is a long time to behave for adults let alone the little powerhouses which are school age children, but very small children????

Having not been involved in this thread and just having read it thr0ugh I dont think anyone was being rude or uncivil to anyone else - surely the whole point of a forum is to express YOUR views and opinions - and if someone else does not agree then they are at lberty to say so and offer up their own. As long as it does not become rude or personal then it's each to their own!!

My view fwiw- if there were kids ( or adults fortha matter) who were being unruly or causing a problem then I believe a quiet word with the FSM is the way to deal with it!!

The site nearley lost a new friend because of one individual who came across as very arrogant,[n] New members do not need to be attacked in this way, it does take a while to learn how to write a question in the correct way.[V][V]

I've never noticed any problems with crying or unruly children while in the 'back of the bus'.....

But then that's most likely because my attention is being distracted by the excruciating pain caused by having to fold my legs into unnatural positions just to fit in the seat [:w]
