I'm sure you're not on a hit list, and for you to be gold you must have had a few good experiences. I won't try to play devil's advocate but will advice instead that you don't let it get to you and try other airlines

I wouldn't take it personally -- I would just direct your custom elsewhere. It is certainly not worth cutting up and returning your gold card. If you want to pursue the complaint you could write to head office, but what rememdy would you be seeking?

There's no doubt that for you you should be travelling to T5 and not T3 in future. But here's the thing, all of your issues could have been met with a more relaxed response other, IMO, than some of the poor CS elements:

- Flight delay, perhaps VS only realised there was an issue when they contacted you, although yes I agree flannel, when you're more in the know than others, is irritating.
- Seats, often fixable at the airport and in extreme circumstances on the plane, there is usually a friendly person who will move - done this myself a couple of times (move for another that is).
- 0844 now that I agree is just poor by VS for Au's and a anyone else.
- Limo, why not call the company and have it pick you up from JFK instead of EWR? I don't understand that... ?|
- Sounds like you did get at least one CS person who tried to help, so not all bad.

Perhaps as you say you are jinxed. Flying a lot more than you do I have never yet experienced such issues. I'll be interested to hear how things are on the dark side after a year, please put a note in your diary to come back and let us know?

Well, I do eight long haul trips a month, Slinky... :) Now pretty much all on EK (heading south, or east) and BA heading west. Pretty much all to DXB, JFK, EWR, ORD, JNB, CPT and HKG. Their loss.

I worked out the other day that I have flown now over 200 times with EK. And you know what. NOT. ONE. PROBLEM. EVER. Platinum is now getting close.

VS's attitude to their frequent flyers has reached a point where almost anyone is better. A shame, since from airport to airport they are still pretty good.

I would really recommend that anyone on here who enjoys VS goes and tries someone else. You may be unlucky, in that the replacement carrier makes a mistake, but for pure volume of screw ups, just a glance at their Facebook page will make you see all you need to. For an airline with so few passengers, relatively, they make too many mistakes.

I'm not sure if you are implying that I should be more relaxed. I don't see why - if I spend £7k on a ticket with an airline, I expect them to care when things go wrong. If that's unreasonable, well so be it, but don't expect me to be relaxed in the face of such pig ignorant rudeness and disdain from VS Customer Disservices.
