Tansferring from Air Botswana, whose bag-tag was udeciferable at tranfer desk-eventually something was entered on to the system. Got pre-allocated window seat(57K). Boarding OK, but remote stand meant random boarding of buses, so a long stand on the tarmac while people found their seats. Boarding by seat row wolud have speeded this and JNB needs more Jettys. Captain re-assuring about the longer take off run at the 5500' altitiude of JNB- nice attention to detail. In event only 6 secs longer than outbound fom LHR

Humorous FSD -not sure if I like that or not, but efficient crew served meal quickly to get lights out on this night flight.

Food not up to LHR standard-dry meat pie (dinner), and for breakfast yoghurt and poor scrambled egg and wet bacon. Surely JNB can reach the LHR standard

Treated to bumpy ride over Africa and excellent views of electric storms (I didn't obey the window blinds closed request). Some pax agitted by the 3-4 hours with seatbelts on and eventaully CC allowed some wandering abut. In my view this is not good enough. If the signs are on they must be adhered to.

But cabin crew were the difference on both this and my outbound flight-keep it up VS!
