Normally when I am woken up at 0400 I am shattered and moody. however when my alarm went of i was excited because today was the day i had waited for for so long.

After arriving at Glasgow airport I headed for the BA check-ins. All was going fine until I was told I couldnt check my bags all the way to MIA. Does anybody no why this happens. Is it really that hard to check it all the way.

Anyway, after the short 55 minutes flight down on an Airbus A319 i headed for the baggage reclaim at T1. I had to wait a good 25 minutes for the bags to start coming through. All this time I thought was time in the clubhouse being wasted. I then headed on the walk to T3.

When I arrived at the UC check-in I had to wait for 5 or so minutes. Some people might of got annoyed at this(like the woman behind me in the queue) but I didn't really mind. I was through fast-track swiftly and then into the clubhouse

This was my first ever time in the clubhouse and first impressions were brilliant. it is so much more modern than any BA terraces lounge. after a quick swing on the bubble chairs I headed upstairs to the skylounge for some guitar playing and then into the roof garden. This is such a good idea being able to see the airport and I enjoyed myself watching a BA 747 and a CX 747(to hong kong) take of. anyway, back downstairs and onto the multi screen. This is also amazing. At 1040 I decieded to head to the gate. Unfortunately I have now forgotten which one. From the gate I could see the a/c for my flight today was G-VYOU (the newest in the fleet at that point). Brilliant, brand new seats.

My first impressions of the UC cabin werent like the clubhouse. they were a million times better. the cabin is SO much nicer than the Club World cabin!! I sat down into my seat, 2k, and got served a diet coke. I then decieded I would go look when the IFBT works. On passing the entrance to the cockpit I realised the door was open so I thought I would take a chance and ask to go in. I wasn't dissappointed and I was allowed in and met the pilot and first officer. I was amazed that the whole plane was flown by a wee joystick like the one I have to play flight simulator on. After a few jokes about fs I headed back to my seat for take off.

After the wheels came up the IFBT came up to me and asked if I wanted to go for my treatment. I was the first person asked so I felt rather priveledged. 10 minutes later I sat back down and watched click. v:port really in amazing. i:map however seemded to crash my screen and many around me. after an hour of so lunch was served. I had the minestroni soup followed by steal and potatoes and then some chocolate mouse. All was amazing. The rest of the flight was uneventful. Everything was brilliant.

We touched down on the east runway at MIA at about 1600 and after a quick taxi I disembarked. After a 1h45min wait at immigration I headed of to my hotel on South Beach.

The flight was fantastic. The best flight I ever had. I dont normally fly in the premium cabins so this experience was unbelievable. If anybody on this website was a CC on VS005 on the 12 Oct I would like to thank them for the perfect way to start a brilliant holiday.

Great TR, I have a question... I'll be flying GLA-LHR-JFK in Janurary, can you tell me how long it takes to walk from T1 to T3.

15/20 mins, at a gentle stroll, through the underground labyrinth, which brings you out right by the VS check-in area.

Cheers,
Mike

I've reckoned 30-40 minutes from plane to post security in T3 which includes collecting luggage in T1

Ah, see here on the VS website for an explanation. They'll only let you interline bags if both/all flights are on the same ticket.

Glad you had a good first experience in Upper, you never forget your first time as they say [;)]

Thanks,
Sarah

It took me over an hour due to bags seeming to take 25minutes to get off plane and to the baggage reclaim but if the bags were off at a resonable speed then i wouldn't think it would take over 35 minutes.
