Should have been on the 22nd Dec flight in Premium, see my thread about snow in Denver for the gory details.
Arrived at IAD at 14:40, with 20 minutes until the checkin desk opens.
Used the Upper Class Checkin for the first time. It was fast and efficient, however, my allocated seat of 22D was not available, despite me being the first to check in. After asking they gave it to me.
Used the Premium line through Security and got to the Lounge by 3pm.
I was warmly greated by the Concierge, had the Shepherds Pie, which in reality is Cottage Pie.
Fixed the faulty PC's in the lounge, met the Concierge. Decided to upgrade to Upper to get some sleep as I am a day late in getting home.
The crew were fantastic, they could n't do enough, they were really into the Christmas spirit, with various head gear and glittery makeup.
This was my first flight in UCS and the bed made a real big difference, I got into a deep sleep and had to be shaken awake for my bacon roll and juice.
I also joined the order of the Ninja, 1st Dan.
Landed at 7.05, straight through security, however, my bag as it was the first on at check in, with the UC tags, was just about the last off !
I was also recognised by one of the FSS, as she handled my complaint at SFO in April, although she was n't looking after the UC cabin, she still made time to help me with one or two things.
We had 2 FSMs on duty today, fed back upon departing that the crew had done an outstanding job.
I was going to find a new route to Denver, avoiding United, but the service at the IAD clubhouse, really makes me want to go back.
Happy Christmas to all.
