At Heathrow...
All very efficient, no queues in the the PE lines or before the boarding card check at security, then just the usual 15 minutes before the scan. Boarded on time and with proper priority boarding(yay!) - wheels up 15 minutes late, translating to a similar delay in arrival at LAX.
On Board...
This was my first trip in new PE, and I was very pleased with the lay-out and comfort levels. That made for an enjoyable trip, especially with the chicjen tikka masala on offer..
The service levels on the flight were really good as regards the standard servings, but what was noticable was that the 'dedicated cabin crew' is a myth as we always had at least two different staff serving and no service for anything out of the ordinary - e.g. a can of diet coke or an ice cream for someone who missed out on the service. These took two or three requests before they were delivered.
Now the real praise and grumble. Firstly praise - the lead flight attendent worked really hard to sort this out and arranged suitable FC miles as compensation instantly when he could sort it out. [oo] I've e-mailed customer services to say thanks. The grumble - no v:port movies or TV for lots of PE seats, leading to several individual reboots and one 50 minute whole-aircraft reboot. For a few of us in PE, none of this worked. VBLU was straight out of the hanger, so no blame to the crew for being caught unawares. Ironically, about the only thing that worked was i:map!
At LAX...
Thank god for the exit point on 346's being where it is and priority luggage, that was a darn long queue......
