Arrived at 8am at checkin, no one staffing PE at all, and 2 members of staff and PAX at the Upper Class checkin.

Someone opened up the PE checkin, got my 70A seat, which still has a wobbly back.

FastTrack was empty, only 2 others ahead of me when I walked straight to the scanner. Had to take my shoes off later, just before Duty Free.

Lounge was quiet at 8.30am, however, it soon got busy by the time I left at 10am.

Gate 5 was used, it's very small, so everyone was cramped, got on board straight after the early boarding annoucement, and found I was sitting next to someone who used to work for the same company I do.

We took off 15 mins late, as the United flight to SFO was cancelled.

The crew was pretty good, and the service was attentive. Upper was full, PE had about 6 seats free, Economy was almost full.

We landed ahead of schedule, walked straight up to an Immigration Agent, Priority bags did not work for me, but I had everything within 30 mins of the plane touching down.

Now in Tahoe, after being on the go for 24 hours.

My PE Miles have not credited to the correct value, it looks like I'm getting the SFO - Silver + PE Bonus, and not the SFO - Gold - PE Bonus.

how come your flight was delayed because of the UA cancellation? was it because some of those pax tried to get on your flight?

Yes, Virgin were asked by United to take on some passengers, so they did, however, their luggage did not !

This raises an interesting point. Given the recent threads about what are my entitlements/VAA's responsibilities in the event that they overbook a flight or lose the ignition keys to the plane, and can't run the flight as booked; If they offer me an alternative seat on a (god forbid) Air Sudan, or Lagos Cargo & Passenger Lines have they wriggled out of their obligations by offering me an 'alternative' flight (very alternative I grant you) and I have no other entitlements after that, or are they still obliged to offer a % refund and/or get me on another VAA flight????
