Priority boarding was in place and actively policed by a very keen member of ground staff. Walked out to Pretty Woman and was quickly settled in 80H. Champagne was offered by the efficient and slightly shrill CSS. The captain informed us that there would be a delay while the luggage was loaded as the rain had flooded a luggage belt. Finally left about 40 minutes late.
Drinks run was followed by the meal service about an hour out. Food was unremarkable as is frequently the case on UK bound flights from Barbados and the breakfast was hardly worth waking up for (made worse by the smell of cooked breakfast wafting up from below).

For what its worth, I had the chicken which lacked real flavour.
The remainder of the flight was uneventful: finished watching Die Hard 4.0 then tried to sleep. This is where the choice of seat proved, with hindsight, to be flawed. Unavoidably noise from the galley and constant traffic made any prolonged periods of sleep impossible. It was, therefore, a slightly more tired than anticipated David that arrived in Gatwick about 25 minutes late. Unlike the outward journey, disembarkation was being done by cabin, so was amongst the first off the plane.[y]
Immigration was surprisingly empty and progress rapid. Unfortunately, the same could not be said for the luggage. Once the luggage started to arrive it became apparent that in the rush to get away from Bridgetown the loading had been carried out without regard for priority so bags arrived randomly. All in all it was almost 75 minutes after disembarking that I found myself waiting for the train home.
Again, like the outward journey, I was left slightly underwhelmed by the PE experience. I cant help feeling that the word Premium promises a bit more than it offers. On the other hand the second half is economy, so I guess I shouldnt be expecting too much. That having been said, the lady sitting next to me couldnt stop raving about the whole experience, including the food. So perhaps its just me?
