Have rushed the typing on this so applogies for poor grammar!

After a week with the mouse, catching up with friends it was time to come home.

Decided to do the Downtown Disney check in, as we had booked through VH we had a voucher so no charge. Arrived there at 10 am to find no queue at all. All bags are now being weighed here and they are very strict on the weight, there was a couple moving items between bags as one was too heavy.

The person (male) checking us in did not utter 1 word to us and was more interested in chatting to the girl next to him. I noticed as we left he had not removed the green waver cards so had to go back. He also failed to mention the flight was delayed by an hour and that boarding was 45 mins later than advertised. - Still meant more time in Disney before we had to return the hire car.
Boarding ended up being about an hour and half delayed- something to do with customs check on the plane and the inbound being delayed - found this out from the captain once we were boarded.

Once on board things went steadily down hill. As it was a night fight announcement was made that the lights would be dimmed- this did not happen. Isnt this a safety thing?

One round of dirnks came round quickly after take off. There were 2 girls serving the upper deck the drinks round was started by the first and finished by the second, I was sitting in 79A by the time the trolly came to me she seemed to give up and just wheeled the trolley past me without making eye contact, so I had to go into the gally to ask for a drink. The excuse given was I did not look like I wanted a drink ( despite my try table being out ready!).

There was no second drink service, the meal came round, by the time it came to me they had round out of chicken and the beef, only a veggie left. This got me a bit mad- was offered an economy meal to which I replied I had not paid for one of those, the flight attendant role her eyes and pushed the trolley off, looked like I was not going to get anything at this stage so asked to speak to the FSM.

I have to say the FSM was a gem he managed to find me a chicken meal and a different lady brought it to me, by this time was a bit embarrassed for causing a fuss and was glad it was sorted, maybe I was being awkward im not sure.

There was no baileys or brandy service, the trays were collected and the lights were dimmed before our trays were collected. I got the impression that the girls thought that that was the end of the service and we were to go to sleep.

About 2 hours later as I was dozing, I was awoken by loud laughter, looked behind me and the girls were laughing and joking with someone from downstairs, this went on for most of the flight. There was no attempt to hush conversation and I could clearly overhear parts of their conversation despite being a few meters from the galley.

No drinks were put out on the magazine rack like normal so decided to ask for a drink, got the impression that I was being awkward and was told by same girl if I must

To be honest I should have said something again to the FSM about the attitude of this girl but was too tired and just wanted to get off the flight.

Breakfast was served an hour before landing, tea came round but no coffee so did not get a hot drink.

Was glad to get off the plane, in 16 sectors in PE mostly on the upper deck, I have never come across such rubbish service and bad attitude, this girl really did have a chip on her shoulder, part of the conversation I overheard was to do with the strike and some bitching about a girl I assume was serving somewhere else on the flight. This Girl ruined the flight for me really so have decided to write in and complain. I only wish I had a word with the FSM as its probably too late now.

This flight has put me off VS a little, I have an Y flight to vegas in Feb, and I am starting to dread it!

Great TR - Thanks for posting [:D]

But Shock horror [:D]

Not the old running out of food thing again on an Orlando flight [;)]

This seems to be a familar tale. I was also offered an Economy Meal as they'd run out back in November as have other posters on this Forum.

Is it really that difficult to load enough food ?

Write to Customers Services. I did and was assured that it was being looked at [;)]

Thanks for the TR, and what a shame about the service. I would of spoken to the FSM about the attitude of the FA the first time round, and then called him again when it happened again. It is unacceptable to have this kind of attitude.

Let us know what Customer Service reply,

Greatly appreciate you sharing your experience with us.

The poor service and lack of consideration to passengers is something you should definitely write to VS about[:(!]

As others have mentioned recently, it could have been that there was yet again a crew shortage on the MCO route (with original crew failing to turn up) but this does not excuse they way you were left perceiving the service. You said the FSM was a gem - it is most unusual for this leadership not to be reflected in crew attitude.

Hi Buns

I only wish I spoke to the FSM again, when there was no choice of meal, he got me an upperclass meal- on a PE tray. The problem was I then felt embarased eating it as it was a lot better looking than the PE meal.

The Ladys attitude was way off, and im really not sure why. I have written a letter to Customer services today about mainly her as it was she who spoilt the flight for me. I think with her being on the upperdeck she was out of sight of the FSM for most of the flight, maybe thats why she thought she could ease off the service, im unsure.

I have read a few reports on here about crew being uninterested, but it has never happened to me, this has really put me off VS and if I could change my Vegas flight in Feb I would, but im stuck with it, hopefully I wont encounter the same service!

I can totally empathise with what you say here.

I have been in exactly the same position (and in the same seat come to think of it) and to be left with feeling you are in the wrong is not right.

Don't get fobbed off when the reply comes through

There does seem to be a problem - but only with certain crews.
I must say that on both my recent MAN-MCO-MAN flights the UC crews were excellent.

Perhaps we need to write in to CS about every flight - good and bad!
That way Virgin will get the data needed to sort out the good from the bad - they can then take action that is entirely independant from anything that is happening over Union action.

I would be fairly certain that these bad crews are also those most militant.
They are not worth more money and it would be far better if we could help VS to sort out who is worth more!
