First Trip Report here we go!

Check In

I checked in online 24 hours before the flight so when I arrived at Gatwick I was happy that I didn't have to stand in the huge queue! The bag drop line was long, but about 20mins later I gave my bags in and was told at the desk that there was a 2 hour delay [:0] I was also told they would start boarding at 12pm!

So onwards to the airport shops, brought some magazine in WHSmiths. At this point I decided to check the departures info (it was about 9:45) and saw that there was a gate number already next to the flight number. I headed striaght to the gate number and about 30mins later I was sitting on the plane.

Things were working out well at this point, annoucements came on to say we just waiting for ground crew to take a late passengers bag of the plane and we would then be ready to take off. About 20mins later still waiting and outside I could see the sky turned dark and storm clouds covered the airport. Of course the next annoucement was to say that the airfield was closed because of the storm so we were going no where. It took another 45mins for us to finally take off.

In-flight

The flight itself was uneventful. I like those kinds of flights. [:D] At one point during the flight the seatbelt sign came on and the stewardess said that there was going to be some tuberlance. At this exact time cabin crew were starting to provide the hot snacks and 10mins later the seatbelt sign came off. No tuberlance, was wondering if it was a way to get some passengers to return to their seats for a little bit?

I watched one movie and played a couple of games. I miss not playing Street Fighter as I used to do as a child flying Virgin in the 90s.
I spent most the flight walking around the plane and watching a couple of passengers play card games at the back of the plane.

The food was ok but nothing to write home about.

We landed at 2:15pm Vegas time so we were only 45mins late.

Immigration was a breeze and I had both my bags within 25mins of arriving. It was nice to be out of the airport within 25mins of landing unlike landing at LAX.

Overall the flight was good and the cabin crew was fantasic. They were really nice and when we were delayed leaving Gatwick they were talking to passengers and joking around. I will be writing a thank you letter to Virgin.

Hi Jo9

Nice trip report, Glad to see that you had a very enjoyable flight aside from the delays and lack of street fighter.
