We then were given new ones in a shiny wallet as we dropped our bags off. No queue at all and we were very quickly through to -
The Lounge at Manchester this was really relaxing and very quiet, with a fair selction of drinks and breakfast items. No cooked food apart from toast.
There was a delay for about one and a half hours which was not displayed on the monitors, by the time we realised we had gone to the gate, the dreaded number 300
It was very crowded and then had to be 'bussed' to the awaiting plane.
The upper class cabin and the service we received more than made up for the delay. Almost immediately offered drinks including champagne (very nice) Shown how to use the suite and a brief explanation of being able to have meals/snacks as desired. This was by the FSM who introduced herself and her staff. The staff who were in the upper cabin were attentive without being intrusive.
MENU
Warm asparagus wrapped in Italian Coppa ham with hollandaise sauce
Soup
Char grilled Butterfly chicken, or Sumatran Salmon and Tiger Prawn Curry or Lemon Spinach ricotta Cappelletti
Crackers and Cheese - Cashel Blue, Quickes Red Leicester, Cornish Camenbert all thoroughly delicious
Dessert was Pain Au Chocolat bread and butter pud or rasberry ripple ice cream with giant chocolate buttons
afternoon tea consisted of assortment of sandwiches followed by scones with clotted cream and jam and offer of millionaires shortbread
everything was beautifully presented and nicely served
we even had one of the stewardesses put up our tables and set them with linen cloths and cutlery.
I think that apart from carrying us on and off the plane there is nothing else the crew could have done to make it better.
The start to a lovely relaxing holiday
the journey back was a little different.
I cant wait to fly upper again
