Living about 70 miles away, we stayed the night before at the Park Inn at LHR dont think wed stay there again!
Arrived at T3 at 6.30 and straight to PE check-in to drop off bags and ask about row 18 but no luck. Bags were checked through to Nassau. Straight through security and the shoe check and to the Clubhouse.
Settled ourselves in the Gallery area and ordered a bacon roll for me, scrambled eggs and smoked salmon for Mr G and the obligatory champagne, plus some of the orange juice with mint forgotten the name now.
I then went for a haircut, followed by Mr G. A couple more glasses of champagne and Mr G had a Vesper Martini. He then went for a dip in the pool and a nice shower.
The flight was called at about 11.45 and we went straight away. We were on Surfer Girl and sitting in 20H and K. We were refused the nasty bubbly but took an OJ each. Push back was at 12.25, a quick taxi and wheels up at 12.40, we were told a flight time of 9hrs and 25 mins and it was that exactly!
The flight was fine, neither bad nor outstandingly good. My IFE crashed once but was reset quickly. Crew were reasonably friendly and reasonably efficient. Lunch was a salad, then for the first time ever, they had no veggie main choice, so I had the sausage and mash without the sausage though they did offer me a baked potato instead. It was followed by a Fruit dessert and a liqeuer. About 1 _ hours before landing, we were offered a choice of sandwich - tuna or cheese and chutney. I had the cheese and chutney which appeared to have none of either! But there was a very nice flapjack. Fresh fruit round appeared after the sandwich.
We landed at MIA at 17.05 and were at the gate very quickly. Then the hideous wait at immigration for what seemed like hours, but was in fact about an hour and the search for the American Eagle check-in for our flight to Nassau.
The return was a different class altogether!
