Arrived back at the airport on Sunday 30th after checking in and chilling out. That is a great idea. However, we had a real problem trying to upgrade the seats just to extra legroom again. Whoever was at the end of the phone just could not comprehend the difference between extra legroom and exit row seats. We were told to pay at the airport. That was a trial to say the least. No indication of where to do this then we got a really unpleasant check in woman. She was nasty to the couple in front of us as though none of us should be causing trouble by upgrading! We were given 63A+C.

I noticed the couple were grumbling as they left the counter, only realised why when it was our turn. Instead of 30 each a tax was added of 6+ each!! Gobsmacked.

The airport is so much better than last time. Cooler and more shops. The time passed but we didnt board and it became farcical. Crew kept calling out passengers to 'make themselves known'. One hour later we started, so we were an hour late altogether. When we got
onboard I found that one of our seats wouldnt recline and the IFE wasnt working properly. The V Port system seemed great but not for us on this flight. It kept rebooting every seven minutes, so we gave up.

Then the turbulence started all seven hours of it. The crew were really snotty with the passengers and just wanted to get through their trolley runs then disappear behind their curtain. We didnt even get a hot drink. After five hours people needed the loo and were mainly ignored by the crew but then they pounced on one person and gave them down the banks. This was after escorting a child to the loo themselves!

It had to be our worst flight ever.

We landed at Manchester an hour late then we couldnt get off the plane as the walkway wouldn't attach properly to the door. Forty minutes later we finally deplaned. The only good thing was that our luggage was ready for collection. We left the airport to see snow! Home Sweet Home!!!

Overall, I really loved flying with Virgin and I'm sure our return trip experience was just unlucky. The turbulence must have got to the crew, I'm prepared to give them the benefit of the doubt anyway.
