Well it finally home time following a great 10 night stay in Orlando. we were on our way to the airport when we recieved a call from Virgin advising us that the flight would be delayed by 1hr, and that they thought they would let us know in case we wanted to do other things rather than hanging around the airport. It didn't matter really as we love MCO, and were planning to eat there ayway, nice service though.

CHECK IN

We arrived at the Upper Class check in and was greeted by Virgin ground staff, who asked had we been informed of the delay, he then escorted us to the security people who asked the usual questions, the UC desk was busy with some passengers from economy complaining about their seat locations, as soon as the agent saw that we were waiting they were ushered to one side and we were checked in, extremley pleasant and efficient, lounge passes in hand we were on our way within 5 minutes.

I do feel that the Machester ground crew could learn a lot from MCO, they were so good and professional, it really made it into a pleasurable experience

LOUNGE

Following our lunch at Chilli's we arrived at the lounge around 1 hr before departure, they asked us our flight number and said they would call us when it was boarding, as said often before the Delta club lounge is not great, but OK for a drink, and snacks prior to boarding. Our flight was called and we made our way to the door of the lounge where we were met by Virgin ground crew who escorted us to the gate, at this point they hadn't even called the flight so we were straight onto the plane.

FLIGHT

Within minites of boarding the Upper class cabin was full, you heard the sound of champagne popping, and we were all served pre flight drinks and topped up several times before take off. the crew came round with the extra's, and offered all passengers sleep suits, I opted for the large which was a bit tight, but comfy. The FSM did not introduce herself, but she was present throughout the flight.

Following take off we were offered more drinks and Olives or crisps, a memeber of the crew came over and asked if we had flown Upper Class before ( We were able to say yes this time ) and said if we needed anything that we should ask. Meal and breakfast orders were taken. I had ordered a childs meal for my Son, but he quite fancied the roast chicken on the menu, she said they would check the load, she came back minutes later and said there was plenty of chicken and he could have what he wanted, I think they mixed his meal with kids one, but on a plate, yohgurt smoothies, crisps ect.he loved the attention

My wife and I dined together which was great, and had the following

Cold sliced beef with salad and dressing ( Delicious )

Roast Chicken with lots of side dishes, can't remember which

Double chocolate cheesecake ( We shared, we were that full )

There seemed to be about 4 crew in Upper who were the best i've ever seen, they sat down next to us to explain the wines in detail, it was like being in a restaurant and it seemed like they were interested in their job, really efficent.

Following our dinner we asked for our beds to be made and the crew asked if we wanted a drink at the bar whilst it was done, we obliged and had a nightcap, then off to bed.

About 1 hr from landing we were awoken with a nice hot cup of tea and bacon barm, I have tasted better but it was ok

We landed in Manchester on time, and the same as our outbound flight the economy passengers were held back until the Upper passengers disembarked.

Our bags were waiting with the crew bags, and back to the real world.

Fantastic experience !!!!!
Looking to book our next UC trip.
