Well a month in the sun had come to an end and I had to return to Blighty[:#]

I had a good drive to MCO and arrived to the usual chaos that is MCO...I always find it such a shock after being on an island for a month[:w]

Check In was friendly[^]hoorah and I was soon doing last minuite Christmas shopping in the disney store so yet again more bags to board with[:w]

I noticed the queues for security were non existent which is a rarity so decided to make a dash for it and go through to the Delta Crown Room. It was fairly empty so I ordered a Margarita and curled up on a sofa with a pile of olives, plastic cheese and crackers. I downed the Margarita fairly quickly, which tasted strange,[ii] and went back for another only to find that due to a language misunderstanding had been a mojito[:0]Neither cocktail was at all authentic hence my not really knowing what I was drinking. So I sat quite happily in the lounge in a haze of rum, tequila and plastic cheese[:D]

We were called to board and as usual a sweet man escorts you to the gate and straight on the plane[^]I always think this such a lovely detail.

I had arranged to meet Jilly on board and we introduced ourselves over a glass of champagne[:w]. It was so good to meet another v-flyer and have someone to talk to.

As usual the seats are a bit tired but after a few more glasses of bubbles mixed with the previous cocktails I was a happy camper[:D]

The flight was fine except for the meal....please no one order the vegetable quiche it was disgusting and the fried green tomatoes inedible[:$] I don't eat meat so I made do with yet more cheese...at least not of the plastic variety and a Rich Belgian chocolate cheesecake[:I]

I then made the mistake of asking to try the new vodka before ordering it from duty free forgetting about all the other drinks I had consumed[?] Not the wisest decision as the next thing I remember is breakfast being served[|)][:0] I never eat breakfast on a plane so had a couple of cups of coffee and freshened up ready to swan into LGW.

Arrivals is looking worse than ever and I couldn't find the IRIS machine or anyone to tell me where it was behind all the scaffolding and plastic sheeting so by the time I got through my case was on the belt and off I went to be met by Roxsy-Popsy[:X]
You didn't think I would be driving after all those drinks did you[?][:D]

It was lovely to meet you and you didn't look at all intoxicated to me, probably due to the amount of G&Ts I had consumed. It was amazing how much we had in common, that much I can recall.

I can't remember too much of the flight either though, I think I slept for 80% of it. Believe it or not we were waiting another 40 mins for our luggage after we said our goodbyes.

Both my trains were delayed but I did get home eventually to a surprise birthday party! Hope you enjoy yours.

Thanks for yet another fine TR[y][y]

I know that can be tempting, but Mrs Buns and I always retire to the McCoy's Restaurant above the Terminal for our last American Meal in knowledge that having a substantial meal can off set the onslaught of jet lag [:w][:w][:w]

Unfortunately, on our most recent return from Florida (TR to follow soon) we had to route via JFK, so our usual routine was somewhat disturbed

Thanks once again

I do believe I can see a pattern forming here...

Indeed - sort of reminds me of a somewhat notorious flight in May -when I requested another G&T (I may had had 1 or 3 with a few esteemed V-Flyers) was informed 'Sir, you have drunk the flight dry of Gin (one bottle of T10, one of Bombay and even one of Gordons)' - my natural reply was 'well make that a vodka and tonic then please' - and suprisingly we got served it . . . . don't remember much of the rest of that flight either [:w][:I]

Jilly....I am glad you had a good birthday despite of everything. How nice to have such a surprise waiting for you[:D] I bet you were cursing me for exiting the airport so quickly[}:)] It was a pleasure to meet you

Mdvipond...I did say that your TR made me feel better about writing regarding my mixed consumption of beverages[:w]

Hackneyguy....I never did purchase said vodka as the CC were obviously unable to extract any cash from me in my sleepy coma[|)] Luckily Mr Sunshine had been in charge of the T10 on his previous trip so that is safely[?]in our drinks cabinet[:D]

Buns...Do you hate the plastic cheese that much[:$][:D]

I'm not quite sure how it falls under the term 'quiche'. I know eggs and pressurised cabins aren't necessarily a good mix, but how did that (and let's not mince words) savoury muffin get classified as a quiche? Is it a VAT thing, like Jaffa Cakes?

Thanks for the both the TRs; I admire your sang froid in the face of 'a bang from the engine'[:0]

Well it would seem greedy to take a handful of the blessed things[:I][:I]

It does strike me as being rather strange as in other Crown Room, there has been a much more extensive range of snacks available - perhaps it is the greedy Brits on the BA and VS flights that has the staff hoarding the stuff away until we have gone[:w][:w]
