Security was rammed with people, but even still, only a 15 minute wait or so to get through. I saw a few of the body scanners, but none of them were turned on. After that it was a trip through duty free - got a 1.75L bottle of JD for £25!

Boarding commenced on time and push back was 3 minutes late. We waited on the tarmac for a few minutes for VS009 to take our old spot at gate B28. Then we were off for an almost hour long tour of JFK!

Once we took off dinner and drinks were served but service was very slow. While I was at the back of the plane and that was to be expected, it was much slower than usual. Plus, there was only one round of drinks! Even still, the G&T I ordered came about half filled with gin, not that I can complain about that.

I opted to have the beef, which was ok. The salad was fresh and the dressing decent, and the coffee cinnamon cake that was for dessert was actually quite good.
Stuck with Odyssey and disappointed to find that Salt is only showing on routes from the UK, I played some games on my iPhone and ended up talking to a fellow student for three or four hours. Managed maybe a half hour to an hour of sleep, and then it was time for breakfast. I had the cheese danish, which was very small, but what can you expect in economy?
We took a very southerly route, out over the coast of Long Island and then north once we approached France, and over Plymouth, and turned once we passed Bristol.
We approached Heathrow on time but due to the massive backlog of flights, we did a few laps around the English countryside and then landed almost 40 minutes late.
15 minute queue at passport control, and my bag was out within two or three minutes of reaching baggage reclaim. Then on to HEX and the bakerloo home!
