Having bagged a last minute upgrade from PE to a G for next to nothing and a few miles I was already a happy bunny.

Watched the weather forecast on and off all day Sunday and at 6pm decided to make my way to LGW that evening rather than 6am Monday morning. Quick check with Hilton and room organised for £60 include a free exec upgrade as a Gold card member.

Really liked the relaxed option of getting up and not worrying about traffic on the M25/M23 to get to Gatwick and took the short stroll over to check in to dump my luggage then off through security which was very quiet although I had to have my hand luggage checked for explosives :0

Quick stop in Boots for water then off to enjoy the CH for a few hours and nice views of the blizzard outside accompanied by Eggs Benedict and a couple of glasses of fizz (and water).

Boarding called and ended up joining the tail end of the general boarding, into seat 8A and glass of champers in hand. Cabin very empty with only 7 seats occupied. (hence I guess my good deal on an upgrade)

Jersey Girl already looking a bit tatty...

Delayed on the ground awaiting de-icing then finally off and airbourne. Drinks orders taken and browse the menu.

Starters
Smoke Duck or carrot soup

Main
Asian Shin of Beef, Roast Bre4st of chicken with cheddar cheese champ potatoes, courgette and balsamic jus or Dolcelatte cheese and butternut squash tortellini. Slightly bumpy causing my wine to jump out of its glass!

Duck and Chicken both very nice, no desert just cheese although my Cornish Brie had blue bits. :(!

Managed to squeeze in a Graze Mini burger a bit later in the flight rather than afternoon tea which was also very tasty. Only managed to get through 2litres of water in addition to "other" drinks. ):

Crew excellent and went out of their way to please some ohter ladies in UC who wanted to look at various options from the shopping brochure. FSM very visible, even came and had a chat a few times.

Managed to make up some time so landed slightly later than scheduled although there was some confusion from the captain as to what exactly the time was in Havana.

Usual nightmare with baggage belts in Havana but our bags through fairly quickly unlike others whose bags took over two hours!! :0

Also heard from Econ passengers about special meals not loaded, options on meals running out and they ran out of alcohol so only one drink served.

All in all a very good flight.
