The need for 3 TP to obtain Au had us planning our next holiday earlier than usual, however there was no way we could fit it in before June and although we had a planned weekend trip to London in May we would still need 1 TP each so a day trip it was to be.

OLCI at 23.5 hours prior to flight gave us SEQ 4 & 5 but seats had been changed to 11a & b with no option to move further forward only back. No worries, it's a 40 minute hop I am barely getting any sleep tonight as it is, I'm not going to lose any of that over this.

A gig the night before meant we didn't get to the Raddison Blu at the airport until 2am and even though we had contacted reservations to advise of a late check-in they couldn't find our booking, no worries they suddenly realised we had been listed as a no show, keys were given and we were off to bed. Literally climbed into bed, slept 3 hours, up, showered, dressed, coffee grabbed at reception and an easy 20 minute stroll to T3.

Boarding passes hadn't printed well enough to be scanned so quick trip to empty checkin desk provided new ones and also passes for the return trip. (Seats 2a and 2b as originally reserved)

Breezed through security and after a short wait at the gate we were called for boarding. Transferring UC and Au passengers first, then the rest.

Asked for boarding card and ID at the gate and greeted by name that was expertly read from the boarding card ;) I personally have no requirement to be greeted by name, call me what you like as long as its not rude ):

Nice greetings onboard from lovely smiling crew and we were soon sat in our very comfortable seats.

32 passengers onboard spread throughout the middle section of the aircraft, Queen of the Cobbles, I think we left on time I'll be honest I never take any notice, never have and doubt I ever will - I'm terrible for time keeping and my memory is shocking so as long as I get somewhere eventually things are good with me :)

Very quick refreshments service, hot drinks and juice offered along with a bacon roll. I'm not a big fan of refreshments on short flights like this, I just don't really see the point, however, I completely understand what VS are trying to do and every credit to them it was a good service, 4 crew easily covered all the passengers in no time at all. I tried the roll and it was ok, and I noticed a lady in front of me must have asked for another option ( possibly vegetarian - but I don't want to presume) I noticed she declined the other option she was given but then after a few minutes one of the crew arrived with a small bag I think maybe it was fruit and the lady seemed really pleased with that option.

It was a lovely morning flying into LHR it seemed like we might have circled a little before finally landing but everything was smooth and I have only praise for the crew and VS as a whole on this flight.

I will cover the return separately. Thank you for reading.

Additional, obviously no onboard entertainment however there is no n/a option and I'm pretty sure it would be excellent if it was there hence my rating.

Thanks for the TR , have to admit after being on the first flight from Man on the 31 March . I personally think VS has a very good product and hope the loads will continue to build. The crew on our trip was brilliant too y)
