A prang on the Gatwick slip road off the M23 didnt help the day but hey at Im off to Vegas :) Check in was a breeze and off thru security (why dont people prepare and have belts etc.. removed before they gey to the front??) to mooch around duty free but didnt buy anything. Decided to have a pre flight glass of wine and a flick through the racing post for tomorrows runners. Sometime later I glanced up at the screen to see 'final calll VS043', arhhhh where has the time hone ?| A quick gulp of wine and off I trundled to the gate where I expected to see a waiting area full people but no they were all on the plane so I was one of the last one, very not like me.

Seated on the one off the exit row seats next to the toilets I was thinging that this is gonna be a high traffic area but at least Ive got the extra leg room. Take off was on time and and followed by an announcement that the meal sservice would commemnce shortly and alcohol would only be served with the meal and at no other times so please dont ask the crew for any more..Is this standard now with VS ?| Is it just in economy ?| Now dont get me wrong Im not looking to get hediously drunk but I do enjoy a glass or two of wine while settling down to watch a film and fully understand the consequences of boozed up travellers but this does seem a bit stingy to say the least v(

Anyways had a nice lunch, and was pleasantly suprised that the traffic nect to the toilets was too bad as I was expecting to be bumped into every 5 mins by pax passing by.
I did think is was a bit chilly so I asked one of the CC (wont name or should I ?) for a blanket, "ok I'll have a look" she said but it didnt materialize. Left it about 30mins before asking again the same CC again and was told "Oh yeah, I'll see if I can find one". No maybe its me but I think on a day timeflight it should be too difficaul to locate one as hadly anyone seemed to be using them and I was hust unlucky that I didnt have one on my seat. So the said gold dust sorry blanket didnt show for the 2nd time so I went down ro the fromt of the plane and asked the CCS who said they would get one immediately. True to his word he did and handed it to J... to give to me "theyre you go" was her expression as she handed it to me. Now i was greatful and thanked her but I can help feeling that some people really shouldnt be cabin crew or maybe it was just a bad hour for her or something ?

As the hours went by I witnessed more instances with her lack of service to fellow pax and a couple to the right of me across the isle nicknamed her Grumpy Gloria (not her name) when a reuest for a glass of water was declined with "I'll be round in hour with a snack, cant it wait till then?" v( and when one of the pax asked for some more loo roll as it had run out well she made that pax feel tiny as she announced "it couldnt have run out of toilet paper all ready" quite loudly and instantly the pax went red in the face, bang out of order v(
Mow I havent travelled EC for about 5 years but I definetly dont remember recieving sun standard services from CC who dont want to serve and I would like to think that this is a one off.

Now it was about two hours left to landing and the passemger next to me asked for an amenity kit to brush her teeth, she was told by J... we dont tdo them on daytime flights anymore and walked off. My fellow pax asked me is that true but I didnt know but it was the first I heard of it ?| I offered her some of mine as I always carry my own but didnt had a spare tooth brush, she accepted and off she went to freshen up.

Lanaded at T3 in McCarren and cleared customs very slowly and waiting ages for luggage, it might be me but I really think things/baggage are slowler since the flight moved to this new terminal. Cab ride to the ventian taking Swenson/Paradise route of course and settled down to a relaxong 5 days at the tables y)

VS lessons to be learnt, CC/individuals attitude needs addressing and amenity kits should be available on request if you dont do them on day time flights !

Tut tut VS don't go down the Ryanair route and get back that special feeling you have when you step on a Virgin plane.

Sorry but she needs reporting that is NOT the attitude to have with passengers! Why would you fly with us again after being treated like that. I'm appalled you received such bad service. I know it's too late now but a word with the economy CSS would have been in order as they might be unaware that she was being so dismissive of pax requests.

I agree with VB here.....a word with the Economy CCS was in order but do ensure you provide feedback to customer services. I was so disappointed to hear of the service you received, not good enough and rightly needs addressing.

Thanks for sharing.

I think it was the fact that I was landing in vegas that I didnt highlight this to the CSS, wanting to get off and settled in the Hotel asap etc..But on reflection of course you are all right, I should have reported this because we certainly dont want others pax to experience the same level of 'service' from CC

The original discussion on the drinks topic said that there would be 4 drinks runs on the VS 43. There were loads of comments that 4 drinks would be more than enough on an 11hr flight which I tend to agree with, my issue then and now is that this was never going to happen and within a few months we have gone to 1 alcoholic drink with your meal as per any charter flight.

The Vegas flights are Virgins most expensive West Coast economy ticket, they should not be be given less of a service than those to SFO or LAX.

OMG :0 This sounds like beyond terrible service and something that should not be tolerated v( This is what drives me mad about VS as I have just experienced truly brilliant service on yesterday's 27 to Orlando (TR to come) yet you have had a nightmare n(

How long have we been saying on here about CONSISTENCY :?

I'm so glad that our company has pulled away from VS, I mean it is a significant sun of cash spent on travel each year. Look at BA, service is always consistent , EVEN IN ECONOMY.

Attention Richard Branson or whoever is in charge of this whole 'oh my god we need to save more' sh'bam, and get your acts together.
