Checked in online the night before in the hope that we could get some seats in the bubble. Alas it wasn't to be and we had to keep our previously requested 16A & C. But Seq 1&2 bagged
Arrived at the airport at 5:30, to bring the car back to Alamo. Really easy and quick.
Got to an empty check in, agent was efficient but not at all engaging.
TSA line was as it always is, stupidly long. It does frustrate me to be honest especially after a two hour wait the week before at immigration. anyway...
Got over to gate 83 where Barbarella was waiting for us. Boarding was quickly called and names were used at the gate
first time thats ever happened to me! (little things and all that) This pretty much set the tone for the flight, although when we got on I did take a look at a slightly sour faced crew member, just goes to show that you should never judge a book by its cover. Drinks promptly offered and accepted, orange Juice for the both of us this evening. A quiet flight this evening 270 something onboard although upper and PE were both full. Left the gate slightly ahead if memory serves. Take off was smooth as was the whole flight. Crew were efficient and friendly throughout the flight. I had the beef which was ok, Mrs S had the chicken which was superb. After dinner Baileys went down a treat and I really love the hot chocolate. Two or 3 juice runs throughout the flight.
Vera was again brilliant, the PE handset is great to use as the map whilst watching the screen.
Landed on time to a very sunny Gatwick, on stand fairly quicky and through immigration in no time at all.
Again, just a great flight with VS
I should say we booked through Travel City Direct for this trip for the first time, we usually book with Expedia but TCD matched their price and allowed us to pay a deposit and pay the balance 12 weeks before. They were also superb and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them, managed to get a good price for the PE on return also.
