My family of 4 were off on our annual trip to the Caribbean. We checked in online the day before (seq 1,2,3,4 Yo!) and dropped our bags, as we always do, at the Twilight Check in around 6pm. I have to say, I was not very impressed on this occasion. The queue was absolutely huge there were only 3 desks open – and there was no UC/PE desk, so it took us about 40 mins to get rid of our bags. Not a great start, thought I, but maybe I am just a grumpy old g*t – my wife certainly thinks so! :)

However, next morning, things got a lot better. We breezed through the Premium security area with no hassles – the staff were great and moved us through rapidly. Then into the Clubhouse, where we were greeted by an absolutely charming lady, who took a lot of trouble to make us feel at home – especially my wife and 2 daughters, who were anxious to get their spa treatments booked. I, as usual, was quite content to hit the bubbly while they got on with it!

All too soon, our flight was called. Boarding was a little haphazard – there did not appear to be any priority boarding channel, but we got on the aircraft soon enough anyway. The flight itself was great – the cabin crew were all very friendly and helpful we all thoroughly enjoyed the food and service. I have to say, things were not so great coming home, but I’ll do another short TR for that one!

Thanks for the TR. Tend to agree that twilight check in can be a bit of a scrum, especially now the opening hours have been condensed. That said, for the sake of a lie in the next morning (or more likely, an extended CH session), I tend to think on balance that it's more than worth it!
