My return flight. Check in was brisk and the Virgin staff very cheery and friendly. Terminal 3 at JFK is the best US departure terminal I have been in- easy to get around, large and decent enough places to eat (including Shake Shack, mmmmm).

It started to snow about an hour before departure and although boarding was completed ahead of time (the flight was well underbooked with only about 15-20 pax in PE and Economy looked very sparsely filled), the aircraft (I can not recall which one it was) had to be de-iced, which took a while and we left approx 90 minutes late, although we were just 30 minutes late landing at LHR.

The flight was fairly uneventful, the food was edible but unmemorable, the staff attentive but they had little to do in our cabin. We had no one seated in front or behind so were in our own little space in seats 30G and K.

I have never flown BA PE, only Club and Economy, so can not make a direct comparison, but certainly the seating in PE made me appreciate having spent the extra. I only usually pay for Business seats if the flight is 8 hours plus, and was perfectly happy in PE for the two flights across the pond.

I expect my next VS flights will be using mles and hopefully in UC (I have Tokyo, Hong Kong and San Francisco on my shortlist).

Thanks for the TR Maximus, good to hear it was a solid flight. y)

In my eyes VS PE wins hands down over the BA WT+ offering... you will get some that disagree, and to be honest it is mainly the service on board that VS still have over BA in my book - You get a smile and don't feel like an imposition to the crew (as I have done when flying BA). The VS PE armchairs are pretty hard to beat for comfort too, especially when compared to the WT+ seats, so will score it 2-0 in those areas :P

I look forward to reading about your successes in finding those mileage upgrades. Cheers for posting 8D
