Early start from the Marriott at the airport for the 18. Check in was fast, there were no queues and we were through security and in to the Clubhouse in no time.

Breakfast was a bacon butty and coffee and flight called for an on time departure with a flight time of 7 hrs 19 minutes.

Cabin crew were great, Amanda ( name used with permission ) was standing in as FSM and did a fantastic job talking to everyone and making certain that we had everything we needed.

Food was hit and miss: the potato and leek soup was lovely but the beef was dry, tasteless and quite frankly inedible. The NYC caterers need a rocket.

Watched the Mrs Brown movie, joined 2 other passengers at the bar for a drink and chat with Amanda and the First Officer who stopped for some water.

Landed on schedule and home 2 and half hours later.

Great flight due to the cabin crew and pax we met but let down by the food.

Same as Blacky, had some great beef in UC so always disappointing to hear of poor food being served v( Love the fact that the CC are making the flights in the upper cabin...our experience was superb as well back from YVR a few months ago oo) oo)

We always find food on flights out of NYC is not nearly as good as the outward flights from LHR and have several times emailed VS to complain and suggest they change caterers. They seem not to have done so - or the new suppliers are just as bad.
