i think it's my first time in PE on this route, i'd started out with an EC M booked by the company agent with the assurance that i could upgrade it with points

at airport, nope, TA has restricted the ticket, even though it's an M i can't use points, will be talking with the TA on my return! did a cash upgrade to PE

oh well, i'm AU so still get the preflight fun

no queue at UC check-in, same for the fast track security where they were almost jovial, now i had a bit over four hours to kill

CH wasn't too busy when i arrived, had a shower in the spa, then staked out one of my favourite tables in the quite area to laze, catch up on emails and prepare myself for sleep

i think it went bubbly, deli, bubbly bubbly, bubbly, burger, bubbly bubbly, but i may have missed out some bubbly

CH got busier, short stayers came and went, at some point i checked my seat on the map and saw it was 20G front bulkhead, not keen on bulkhead seats as i like to extend my legs, but fortunately one seat was still free, 25G at the back of PE, so the CH changed my ticket

headed off to the gate, quick passport check, then fives minutes wait and boarding was called

during boarding the CC brought round the PE bubbly or juice tray, you can guess which i chose, then they brought me another :)

boarding was smooth, no delays and we were off

fully reclined the seat asap, i think it may not go quite as far due to the bulkhead behind but it was enough, normally i stay upright until sleep time as i know it's not so nice for someone behind a full flight recliner, been there too often myself v(

the lumbar support button didn't seem to make a difference, but at least it had stuck in a reasonable position (for me at least)

menu cards were handed out, i noticed there were half bottles of bubbly to be had for £12 so went to the galley, but they said "oh you're gold aren't you, don't worry" and brought me another glass :)

you can see where this is leading

declined dinner as i was almost ready to snooze, one more glass and one of the crusty rolls as a supper snack, then earplugs in, eyeshades on and managed about 4 hours sleep

the menu was...

starter - salad
main - beef casserole / roast chicken / baked leek pasta
dessert - spiced apple cake / cheese and crackers

breakfast - scrambled eggs with cheese (why do that!), hash browns, beans, onions, mushrooms

woke up with the breakfast bustle around me, feeling a bit cold, should've used the blanket

had some coffee, CC came for a chat and to see if i wanted anything... i resisted the temptation ...and gave me a fasttrack voucher which was a nice touch

didn't use the IFE other than turning the moving map on, noticed the flightpath had avoided both ukraine and iraq, watched as we did a loop and a zigzag waiting for a slot into DXB, then a smooth landing, longish taxi

short queues at immigration, baggage ready on the carousel

from start to finish the people of VS turned a disappointment into a pleasant and somewhat squiffy flight :)

A very pleasing trip with a great crew looking after you particularly well y) Shame about the TA messing up the ticket, I'm sure you'll follow that one up ): Thanks for posting, enjoy your time off on the sunbed 8D

Had enough bubbly? ): Hope you haven't had too much of a sore head in Dubai!

Great TR, though, and I'm glad your AU status is paying off :D

I'm with you on the cheese front - it seemed unnecessary with scrambled eggs for breakfast! But then again, I'm never a fan of cheese 30k feet up in the air... :$
