Checked in at 12.40 after heading straight from hotel check out.
This time managed to get Economy seats with sky cots closest to the front to ensure quick get off at LGW.
Went to The Club lounge, was busy being a Sunday with MAN, two BA and a Thomas Cook all going. Lounge busy but being there early managed to grab seats. Soup tasted great as always. Started to thin out once the BA flight had departed.
Went to departure gate at around 3.50pm. However tannoy confirmed there had been a plane swop. So the incoming LGW flight (which was on time) would go to MAN (on time). But the incoming MAN flight (which was late) would then set off (late) to LGW. Bit of a pain. Only turned out to be about 20-30 mins leaving and flight also arrived subsequently a little late - but nothing to worry about.
Dinner was served. Beef stew again as per normal return flight from Vegas. I'm never keen on the return flight food from US versus outbound but with the baby it proved tricky to eat anyway. Even the bread roll doesn't taste as good to me. Baby meal was loaded and she enjoyed it.
Baby was quiet until then, but after the dinner suddenly started playing up much to our horror. We've not seen her like this on her previous trips. She was fighting tiredness. Probably only lasted for about 15 mins but was a painful 15 mins and seemed like an eternity. We tried all usual tricks like carrying around, giving her things to play with but no luck. I then had to take her to toilet cubicle purely to drown the noise which other passengers would surely find annoying by now. This seemed to do the trick however as soon as she settled I opened door to bring her back and it started again! Went on for 3-4 times, then my wife came to take over and eventually she fell to sleep in arms. We then all sleep - including baby in my wife's arms for 5-6 hours and woke up with 2 hours to land. Felt great to have the baby settled for this long after the nightmare 15 minutes and for us all to get some sleep before the drive home.
Breakfast was served but not great.
Smooth landing and then quite a delay for our baggage - buggy arrived before luggage - normally we're hanging on for buggy. Then quickly off home.
Overall great trip, two smooth and efficient journeys.
