Overall a very good VS experience. Good trip up the M4 to dtci which was very smooth, straight through security and as we had no duty free needs we were in CH within 10 minutes of arrival. CH fairly busy when we arrived (around 11ish) but thinned out after a while. We found a table close to the bar & enjoyed a few glasses of fizz & Selection of tapas which were good. Our time in the CH soon passed, we left on the first call 7 on arriving at gate were straight on to the aircraft without delay. Champagne was offered as we settled in to seats 12a & k, thereafter followed a very good flight with a very good crew. During a conversation with a crew member my wife mentioned that our ny trip was to celebrate my 60th birthday, just prior to landing I was quietly given a bottle of champagne to celebrate my birthday which i thought was a very nice touch, the fizz is now sat in our hotel room fridge waiting to be enjoyed before we go out for dinner tomorrow (the big day). Only negative of a very good flight came after landing, our gate wasnt free so we sat on aircraft waiting for around 30 minutes & then probably another 90 minutes to get through immigration.

overall an excellent VS experience.

It is a beautiful morning (8.20am) here in Manhattan, enjoying a wonderful view over Central Park from our room at Park Lane Hotel.

Thank you for reading

Oldboy, thanks for taking the time to write a very informative TR.

Sounds like the CH was the usual excellent oasis. Glad the flight went well just a shame the delay and subsequent immigration issues. However, you are there and what a wonderful place to celebrate your birthday.

Happy Birthday for tomorrow.

Thanks for the TR. Sounds like you had a great flight experience in the best seats in the house. The champagne was a nice touch - they did the same for MrsPJH when we did the final event of her 50 things for her 50th year.

Shame about the delay at immigration. We took the VS045 at Easter and were through a very busy immigration hall in about 10 minutes using the new machines.

Happy birthday for tomorrow. A great city in which to celebrate.
