Okay I'm at a loss. Why is it now possible to reclaim bank charges? Has some change in the law made this possible.
Consumer groups and other groups are pushing the banks at the moment to justify their over-inflated bank charges (for example if a direct debit is returned unpaid beacuse you dont have enough funds in your account, you are charged something like £30). Experts are saying that the true cost of these sort of things is no where near what the banks charge currently customers.

My personal opinion of this is even if banks do lower their charges, they will probably get the money from other means ie my charging customers to use current accounts in the future. That way customers who dont or have never paid any bank charges (ie me) end up paying for all this in the long run.
