As per http://www.ready.gov

WTF? Is this a huge attempt to scare the heebeejeezers out of people? Micheal Crighton was right when he wrote about the media and govts maintaining us in a state of fear!

Given that the US govt wants people to be prepared, I'm going to start packing a parachute, weapon, gas mask, 4 months of prepacked food, sat phone and anthrax medicine whenever I fly. And whilst I'm in the US, I'm going to have with me a weather station, Hummer, seismograph and boat

Hopefully, I should be prepared then.....

Of course, being a brit, being prepared means having nothing but a tin of beans, a box of swan matches, the obligitory candle under the stairs and a stiff upper lip!

Man, I thought our government wasted millions on absolute shite. You guys win hands down!

Wonder if they have any contingency plans in case tourism dries up due to the abysmal immigration process.

I worked at a bank on Wall Street prior to moving to the UK and shortly after the blackout of August 2004 we were issued with 'Ready Tubes'. See here. We had to affix them to the underside of our desks with velcro so we could grab them and run, if necessary. [:?]

I took the footy instead of the card...my sense is that in the apocalypse, credit will be dead and football will be a negotiable currency. [:p]

GJ,

My dear fellow. You've gone and done it now, you put her after the football. At least there is a rather large ocean to separate. I fear that your Christmas card this Gregorian will be sans her scribbling. Shame.

Thanks,
Richard
