If you want to try something really fun .... have a go on snow blades for a day !! .... scared the pants off me !!

Hi Mark, hope you had a good ski trip? I have actually been using snow blades for the past three years as i didn't get on with the traditional skis and ski sticks. You have a bigger incentive to go faster because on snow blades you don't have the sticks to help you out if you get stuck or fall down. I love them[y]

Anyway, I am most definitely up for snowboarding next week. Can't wait [:D]

Grrr. snowboarders, unless rightfully restricted to their own runs, ruin the slope for those artfully schussing down on two blades....
Plus the gear is an odd mixture of LA tough and bear. I ski in Vermont and New Hampshire (and occasionally Maine) where the snowboarders are insane ten year olds eager to wipe out their parents' generation in a single afternoon. They appear out of nowhere, aim straight for the unsuspecting skier enjoying the swoop and glide of a leisurely run and wham, the kid on the board edges deftly into the same mogul, sends the skier careening off to the trees and then screamingly cackles down to the lift, hoping never to be recognized for his/her evil doing as the gear muffles all identity.
The greatest danger is when they descend in packs.
Stick with the blades I say--unless you think you can attain a level of board skill that will allow revenge, in which case do allow me to invite you for a lovely day out where I can point out the targets.

cheers,
RR

Now those resorts that don't allow snowboarders are high on our list of places to visit! [:w]

Well, I've managed to survive the week, snowblading and snowboarding without any wipe outs. Personally I think there's enough room on the slopes for both. I have to say I felt a bit 'trendy' on the snowboard, that doesn't happen very often [:D]
