The local Tourist board must have been doing a good job back then. Two days forced living Over Wyre would have had them wondering about the decision, and as for the Glasgow Fortnight...

Blimey, never knew Yates's wine lodge burnt down. I have fond memories of crawling out there during the Glasgow Fair. Ah happy days[:D]

Was that before they updated it? When I were but a lad (about 30 years back) and found a cup and ball enough excitement for any young person, it was the last chance saloon populated by 'characters'. When I last dared to venture there again (about 10 years ago) it was a hip happening place with DJs and the like.

Must have been about 14 years back since last visit. It was typical Yates with all you could drink happy hours which lasted about 6hrs.
