Mid life crisis

Anyone else suffering from a mid life crisis too? Feel the sudden need to purchase a Harley?

Trying to play 'Careless Whisper', but it sounds like a strangled goose.

Affirmative to the first question. Negative to the second (I haven't ridden a bike in 25 yrs and see too many mangled patients to be vaguely interested in 2 wheels these days).I've just taken delivery of my pimped up MINI (resplendent with Blackjack roof and bonnet stripes). I feel about 17 again [:D] (shame I don't look it).

I am about 10 years away from being able to afford my midlife crisis, once I am set then hell yes, I will go the classic route of a car, maybe something a little different though, I will watch Top Gear and see what they are recommending at the time.

Agreed. Howard would have to bulk up a bit though.

I seem to have managed to avoid the mid life crisis thus far, so if it doesn't arrive soon it's going to be a late life crisis. Pimped up mobility scooter possibly.

Still it sounds infinitely better than an end-of-life crisis.

DL, totally agree, husband had 6 bikes including a Harley then had to be put together again after the 'big one'. Trouble is he needs to be mishaving at something so now the bikes are a no no it's cars. Musical instruments do seem safer Howard but maybe you should start with a penny whistle and work up?

It was instigated by Mrs DA and my Apprentice when they brought me an acoustic guitar for a Father's Day present two years. I upgraded to an electric a few months ago.

Nice, I remember looking at a 2nd hand DB7 about three years back. Then Ken Livingston threatened a 25/day congestion charge for such cars within the zone whether or not you drove it anywhere.

So I bought a Prius, saving 6,500kg/year CO2 emissions. I spent the money I saved on air travel that added 21,250kg/year CO2.

In the end the warranty along with the Aston Martin assist swung it for me and they are more reliable cars these days or, so they say [;)] But anyway, no, it hasn't broken down yet but I've only had it three weeks so give it time [:D]

A bloke down the local has a DB9 and its rather, shall we say temperamental.The early production V8 vantages used to eat clutches hopefully been sorted now.What colour did you go for?

It's got every option on it with the exception of the umbrella!

Someones bad luck was my gain, they ordered it, paid the deposit, the recession came along, they backed out of the deal, I picked up the deal and as they had already paid the deposit I saved 16k on the new list price [:D] I was actually looking for a nearly new one but when I got offered this it was a no brainer.

It's the latest model with sportshift and all the issues have supposedly been resolved, we'll see though.... I'm absolutely delighted with it so far.

Yeah, those wheels come with the sports pack option and are defintiely the best wheels to go with the car. The standard wheels are now 20 spokes which still look better than the old 7 spoke style.
I absolutely love the thing.

I have been having a mid-life crisis (aka the male menopause) for many years now and can thoroughly recommend it.

My only problem is that, as the great Leonard Cohen sings in The Tower of Song, I do indeed 'ache in the places where I used to play'.

Thank goodness for Ibuprofen.

I spent Friday afternoon choosing which yacht to buy for the Southampton -> Perth Single Handed trip I always promise myself when I'm waiting for the train in the mornings.. Possibly a little unrealistic since I'll have to win the lottery to pay for it & the only time I've spent on a boat in the last 10 years was on the ferry to France.

Still - you have to have something to dream of.

The garage is a small one, the car wouldn't go in but then again the garage is my mini gym so even if the door was wide enough, there would be no room anyway.
More importantly, you can't buy a car like that and hide it away, it needs to be left on the drive for all to see [:D]
