Okay, long shot but basically I have the HTC HD 2 and I can honestly say it's one of the worst phones I've ever had. I should have realised buying a windows phone that it would be just as bad on a phone as it can be on a computer but I didn't think! It always freezes and lags when you try and do some things on it and sometimes it does it for no reason and I have to switch it off and on again. The worst problem I have with it is that when I have too many texts of a certain person I cannot 'tap to reply' the message box as it takes forever and a day to load meaning I have to come back out of it and 'compose new message' which just isn't the point of using the thread type of inbox I prefer. I've read reviews on various other websites and from what I've read everyone else has the exact same problems no matter what they do and I myself have tried what I can and still, nothing n(

So basically after speaking to the T-mobile help people on Twitter before they said they know of nothing wrong with the phone otherwise they would stop selling it. Funny because it isn't even mentioned on their website :(!
Anyway they've suggested I take it into T-mobile to get it sent off to be fixed, however I know all they'll do is do a master reset etc which I know doesn't work.

My question is, if I keep going back to complain that my phone is useless and that I'm paying £40 a month for something which I can't get proper use out of regardless of replacing phones etc, would they give me or should they give me the option to change the phone?

So sorry for the length of that but I've been trying to figure something out all day!!

How long have you had it?

If less than 6 months, follow the sale of good act road.

Basically, if it's less than 6 months old, it's down to who you bought it from to prove it's not a design fault. After 6 months it's down to you to prove it's had the fault since you bought it.

I did the same for my Samsung H1 and I got it swapped for an iPhone after 3 months without any argument at all.

I've had it about 8 or so months now, never really bothered about doing anything with it but I'm just getting fed up spending so much money on something I hate to use!

Do you have any ideas on how I can go about proving it's always had a fault? My initial long winded idea was to get them to send it off then when it comes back no doubt doing the same thing go back and see if they'd replace it then show that does the same thing as well. Is there a short cut?!

Have a google for the guides on the SoG act. Point to things like forums etc. that can show a trend.

Best bet is to write a letter to the head office of the company you bought it from (as they are responsible) detailing the faults and problems etc. you are having. Suggest a way out for them, such as replacing it with a model that was available at the time you bought it. Don't expect them to swap it for the latest model.

Lizz it could be faulty. The HD2 has a pretty good reputation. I had a slightly earlier one that misbehaved. T-Mobile repaired it by replacing the motherboard. Since then it's been great. I'm thinking that legally you may need to give them the opportunity to adress your concerns (by having a go at repairing it).

Fair enough, I'm no Lawyer but I'd be amazed if you could reject a purchase after 8 months. And IIRC from uni I think you had to inform the seller ASAP after a fault occurs.

You could give Consumer Direct a call and ask for their advice.

Thanks for the advice, I'm thinking now though that I can't be bothered with the hassle of it all! I can get a new one early next year so may as well just wait until then, T-mobile should have the new i-phone out by then so might just go for something I've heard only good things about.

I also have the HD2 and have found it to be one of the best phones I've owned.

I'd go along with McMaddog about it being a problem with your particular phone.

One of the best websites to visit is xda-developers. They not only help answer peoples problems in an easy to understand and timely manner but they also have software which you (or if need be a techy friend) can download and install for free, usually fixing most problems.

On a side note T-mobile are about to release a software update to all customers, although at this point I'm not sure whats in the release. It might be worth waiting for this and seeing if it helps. If not I'd definitely go down the XDA route.

Typical I got a dodgy one then, every single phone I've ever had has gone wrong somewhere down the line, except the old Nokias, gosh I miss the simplicity!

Not sure if you are aware or not but T-Mobile have announced their iPhone prices/tariffs today. Details here, as with Three all pay monthly tariffs are 24 month ones.

Going back to your current problems. Do you have mobile insurance at all? If you do you could always *accidently* drop the handset :w

I'll be honest, I thought t-mobile might have some better contracts than o2 on the i-phone but they all look pretty similar, even though really I don't use my phone that much I still like to not to have to pay through the roof to get unlimted texts and such things.

I do have insurance yes, it's an idea if I ever get that fed up with it!
