Ladies, put it down to sour grapes! I ain't going to get no flowers, choccies and champagne [:#] But just bear in mind - neither is Mrs MarkJ [:w]

She gets stuff like that all the time![y]

Obviously those of you who place such high regard upon Valentines Day need such a date to remind you to send your wife/partner something! - I dont need some irrelevant date that allows the card companies, flower companies and champagne companies the opportunity to double their prices and rip off all those gullible enough to go along with it!!

If you expect or your partner expects something on VD ( good acronym[:0]) then fair enough do it - its never been important to us and never will be!! And as Ive said - far better to come home with flowers, chocolates or having arranged a night out on any day than go along with all the faux romance of VD!!

Got to say I'm not bothered if I get flowers on Feb 14th.......but then Decker buys me flowers every week without fail.

One of his particular faves is a bunch of 30 roses.[y]

Didn't say I didn't want a pressie![:p]

Flowers on the 14th wouldn't be a novelty - so Decker has his instructions as to the novelty I'd like - and no Jeremey, it's not lego.:)

See Mark, even a woman that gets flowers every week feels the need on that special day to get something just to make her feel that much more special.

While I am thinking about it..what is another woman doing in here !

You know, when I think about that I have plenty of women friends who can do just the same. And bring a different perspective. I'd rather have then in, than exclude them as you seem to imply.

This thread has gotten silly.

Ok, cat out of the bag time, the whole time HL and I were posting we were also Pm'ing each other to see where it was going, yes it may be silly, yes it may be stupid, but it is a little bit of fun, if you don't like the answer is pretty simple and I don't want to sound rude here but....don't read it...if you want to post go right ahead...as long as it aimed at Mark and the fact that he seems to have no regards for going that extra step...and wanting to share his...with others here [:$]

I don't think it was ever intended to be serious [:?] At least it ceased to be once MarkJ posted his intentions, or lack thereof, on the very first response.

And, yes, guys! The lamb is back in the Men Only thread [}:)]

Sorry to butt in guys [:w]....Can i just say that i wont be getting flowers or choc either.

They put up flowers & stuff at this time of year when their profits are low.Why buy a bunch of red roses on Valentines day at £40 odd quid then the day after the prices come down?[V]So iwont be getting any flowers or chocolates.

In fact we are going out tomorow night as well as half of Glasgow but only to watch our beloved footie team play in europe. Now that would make make my valentines day if we do well! [y]

I think you can be romantic at any time of the year not just on a overly commercial day.

i would love to get flowers & chocs but why pay a horrendous amount to get them on one particular day?

My husband buys me chocs all the time but gets me flowers only on special occasions such as my birthday & mothers day and thats fine by me.Unless a see a nice bunch in Sainsburys and i buy them for myself when i need cheering up!
