When I was a kid there were only three (and BBC2 was mainly OU broadcasts)[:0]. No daytime TV as such, and in the school holidays there were a couple of hours of childrens programmes on BBC1 in the morning (Why Don't You? etc ).And that scary test card (well I thought it was scarey..)?

Four!! That's seriously posh!
We only had one channel - the BBC where the announcers wore dinner jackets to announce the next programme. I can remember friends having their tellies taken away to get "Commercial" as ITV was then known

Actually we didn't have a telly at home till I was 16 [:0] I had to go next door if I wanted to watch anything and had to be there well in advance of the programme to allow the set to "warm-up"

You lot! You don't know you're born!!

And it was black and white, not colour [:I]

And as a special treat we were allowed to sit in the tin bath in front of the fire whilst watching it (although I must say I was younger than 16 at the time)

Now I feel really old.

Who remembers Tales of the Riverbank?

Hammy Hamster and GP, suppose it would be deemed too cruel to film this now.

My favs were UFO, Captain Scarlet,Thunderbirds et al.Can anybody remember Poggles wood and Mary Mungo and Midge? The Herbs "I'm a rather fat fluffy old owl called Sage",plus we do have a Bagpuss Hot water bottle on our bed, one of the mice from the mouse organ and the Soup Dragon in the lounge, nearly forgot the Clangers.

The very first episode of Grange Hill was broadcast the day I started Comp in 77 I think, never missed it for 3 years. When they jumped the shark, hiding donkeys in the school it was time to move on.Wonder what happened to Trisha Yates.

The theme tune to 'Tales of the Riverbank' was the first full tune I ever learned to play on the guitar...

Guiliani's Andante in C, if I remember correctly.

Except I watched an episode recently, and it's not as good as I remember! In fact, it was awful... memories are peculiar things!

Yep I remember those days, Black and White and we had three televisions all lined up in the back kitchen because the valves were a bit on the wonky side and the tv would go off. If it didn't come back on with a swift wallop on the top or the side, depending on which channel you were watching then we would switch another tv on and let that run until it died and so on and so on!

I definitely liked Mr Ben, and does anyone remember Oliver in the Overworld. My mum saved up and sent off for the LP which she told me years later she really couldn't afford but I wanted it soooo much. She found the LP a few months ago and it's just as good as I remember:)

Wasn't G-Force the name of the group of characters in a program called

BATTLE OF THE PLANETS

What about the following which I don't think anyone has mentioned yet

Why Don't You?
Blue Peter (Does this count - Yes, as Goldie was the 'Star')
Godzilla (with Godzuki!)
Dungeons and Dragons (Cartoon, Kids got taken back in time from a roller-coaster ride)
Dogtanian and the Three Muskehounds
Mr Benn
Hong Kong Phooey (Hello hello, Police Headquarters!)
Worzel Gummidge
Roland Rat (Superstar Yeeeeeaaaahhhhh)
Wizbit (Ha ha this a way, Ha ha that a way)

Now here's a question for you (without looking it up) - What was the name of Hong Kong Phooey in his normal janitor guise?
