We got the SLK 8 days ago and really love it:). The car is amazing for a 9 year old car and is in great condition. Great drive and fast enough for me. I love it when road testers tell you a car has no feeling or its handling is poor, these are personal oppinions and they do act a bit like lemmings, in my oppinion.

The SLK is Silver paint work with a red and black leather interior.
I bought the SLK, a 2004 A4 and a 2005 Ford Ranger Thunder for what I sold my VW Touareg Tdi for. I think my new car days are over .

Who cares if the RX8 has the torgue of a lawnmover? Most RX8 owners won't be wanting to pull caravans

I do not wish to appear condescending DL (that means talking down to you by the way), but the towing of caravans or any other type of vehicle attachment is not the only area where torque is an advantage. An engine with high torque is also very useful for overtaking another vehicle in a safe manner without the need to rev the engine to 900000 rpm in each gear. As for following Mr.ClarksonÕs recommendations on anything[:?].

Thank you Paul for the explanation as to what condescending is (I had no idea) -and the comment that you don't wish to appear so- but I'm not sure that any current standard production car actually produces 900,000rpm (although ISTBC).Don't think I said anthing about following JC's recommendations (did I[?])just that I'm with him on the subject of caravans (ban them from being on any public highway during the hours of daylight and I'll be happy).
The SLK will look lovely in silver (with the leather)NY.Personally I'm not fussed on the Touareg (but a colleague who's just bought one loves it).

No problem DL, just let me know if you are having difficulty with anything else.
