So we know Hurley, Jack and Kate are off the island..the other 3 ??

But we can't be sure that all three of them are part of the Oceanic 6 can we. Pretty certain about Jack as his fame was established in the first flash-forward last season, but Kate was a fugitive and as such may have had her identify withheld from the public. There is also, in my mind, a question about Jack's father Christian as he was referred to by Jack on two occassions in the present tense - is he still alive and off the island?

You can read a few other theories on the Oceanic 6 page on the Lostpediaside here.

Also, did you notice that when Charlie came to see Hurley another one of the patience pointed him out to Hurley..meaning he saw him.

I believe that number 4 is Sayid. Just a hunch I have.

That's quite right. It is time like this having a simple VPN connection to my router in the US comes into it's own.......

I take your point but show me anyone who has not video'd something from the TV at some point in the past. And quite how does Skyplus circumvent copyright laws?

Movies, Software - All fair point, but TV shows.... and even those that are appearing on our own TV within 3 days of being shown elsewhere. TV (and film) makers have to realise that they only damage themselves by not simulcasting (or same day release for film/dvd) and are in essence promoting people finding ways to copy their copyright products.

I know Disney have been looking at Same Day Cinema and DVD release. Yes that's right, same day Cinema and DVD release. Why? Because they see it as the consumer that has the choice to either visit a cinema for the large screen and ott sound or to buy the DVD and watch at home. They embrace this rather than run from it.

So perhaps is ABC allowed access to their player from the UK it may not be such a bad thing. Personally I would rather watch Lost on SKY HD (although it doesn't seem to be true HD) than I would via streaming media, so I think that SKY will continue to buy the series even if this was the case.

What does everyone else think about this?

Season 4 of Lost is also available on iTunes (£1.89 per episode with episodes 1 and 2 there already).

Mind you, if Lost is anything like a couple of other TV episodes on iTunes I've downloaded, they are about 500Mb per episode [:0], although very high quality.

I'm just impressed that Bromsgrove got a mention in episode 2. I'm originally from Droitwich, which is just down the road so I'm allowed to be excited.

Is it me, or is this series getting more confusing, not less.
Still addicted, mind you...

Simultaneous Release - What does everyone else think about this?

There are several hurdles for simultaneous release around the world

Primarily broadcasters in each country want to preserve the audience to maximise ad revenue - if 10% of their audience have seen something on-line in advance then they are not happy.

Post-Production on each episode of Lost typically only finishes a few days before US air date and this is fairly typical for most US series. Dubbing it into all languages necessary in a timely fashion for a virtually simultaneous release would be difficult to say the least.

Likewise scheduling around the world can also be tricky especially when US series have thier Hiatus mid-season. In short not everyone wants it or is ready for it even if it was available.

However I do see a situation where the concept of 'Home-Base' is recognised so that the rigid 'what country are you in' becomes more flexible. BBC I-Player is a wonderful utility but annoyingly the best use for it would be when I am overseas. Unfortunately even though I live in the UK and pay a license fee I cannot download from outside the UK - even though I can watch stuff I downloaded earlier.

Ultimately I think the concept of WW Download rights will come about but someone will need to pay as broadcasters will pay less for their rights.

Yep, but last time I checked English and American was almost the same language, certainly no dubbing required [:D]

A move now would potentially cause disruption but with a bit of planning this could be overcome.

Distribution costs should reduce though due to digital over the wire possibilities PLUS as per my original point simultaneous release potentially reduces piracy.

Anyway, back on topic, LOST, not bad this season, at least we seem to be getting some answers:

Oh and by the way, have you forgotton that end of season 3 saw Jack going to (presumably) Sawyer's funeral who would be No 4 of the Oceanic 6! So Only 2 others to work out.

Sawyer? That seems unlikely - why would Kate have exclaimed 'Why would I go to his funeral. Sawyer (if he got off the island) is more likely to be the one Kate 'has to get back to'. Popular opinion is that the coffin holds Michael - I do not think it is one of the accepted Oceanic 6 (although Michael might have bypassed this) - a high profile 'celebrity' funeral would be more likely in that case and the funeral home was deserted and in a somewhat rundown area of town - so no compensation payment likely.

We already know the fourth from this week's episode - assuming Jack and Kate are one and two (still some doubts over Kate).
