Nope - its completetly knob and will get you into trouble at some point when someone - employer/lover/partner/friend/etc - reads something that you have written and takes exception to it. Apparently some emplyers are already doing searches to see what you have written!!
I am the employer, and I don't intend to get into trouble with myself. Neither was I going to post anything on t'internet that was particularly contentious, but I see your point...

similarly great if you are narcissistic and think that everyone wants to know what you are up to.
You mean they don't???
It would, of course, be extremely foolish to set up a blog and tell everyone about your affairs and how much you hate your boss. I suppose the trick is to be aware that your scribblings are ending up in a very public domain, and write accordingly (a bit like on here, really...).
I've been tempted for a while to set one up entitled 'Plane of Doom' whereby I hire a 747 and a suicidal pilot hell bent on flying into a mountain-side, and then discuss the so-called celebs to whom I will issue J class (and in some cases F class) tickets. Robbie Williams, Ainsley Harriot, Jamie Oliver (he can sit with the pilot, just to be sure) come to mind... I could go on (hence the idea for the blog).
