Canon EOS 350D

I am thinking of soon investing in this digital SLR camera to take my railway and aviation shots. I currently use a Fujifilm FinePix S5500 for these shots.

Does anyone own this camera and/or can anyone recommend a good SLR for this and also what lenses to use?

You won't go wrong with the Canon 350 Alex. I've had a 300D in the past and got great results with it bofore switching to my current 20D which is equally pleasing.

Look out for 1M44/1S96 going through Wigan and yours truly may be on it!!

I have the 300D, and I think preffier has the 350D (possibly the 400D) and it's a great little camera.

The best advice I can offer is buy the body only (not the cheap bundled lens) and spend as much as you can afford on a good-quality walking around lens.

I'm a bit of an astro-photography buff, and since purchasing a Canon 70-200 L Lens, I've been very happy with a couple of my results;

I am running an Olympus E1, excellent DSLR, superb shots both in daylight and night time It also is waterproof and dustproof(a problem with some DSLRs)and has a nifty plate vibrator which removes dust from the screen. Only downside is it uses Digital lenses of the 4:3 size, whilst many other cameras can use analogue old SLR lenses. But these days you can be sure that the current batch of DSLR's available from the main manufacturers will give you superb pictures.

Yesterday I became the proud owner of a Canon EOS 400D, along with a 2GB CF Card. I will soon be investing in a 70-300mm lens for aviation shots etc.


Am very impressed so far and I was very surprised with the weight of the camera.
