Hope everything goes well [y]

Just hope your internet is transfered in reasonable time as well, as moving house often causes loss of internet for too long these days whilst you wait for BT to clear the line on your new house, cease your existing internet on your old line and then re-activate your line in your new house.

I've heard horror stories about wating over a month for everything to get sorted [:0]

Good luck!!

Regards

i have to admit i have recently purchased a new home in california, and whilst i have been over sorting out a new car and various utilities i noticed that i could 'freely' access 2 seperate wifi points from all rooms in the house and the garden... [:w]

it did crosss my mind to cancel the cox cabel connection, but decided i was just being a tight fisted jock and should pay for my own...

by the way, maybe i am lucky, but cable in ca seems to be really fast compared to adsl in the uk... [y]

By all means - but did you know that in the UK at least this is theft? Recently, case law on this issue was decided in court when someone was found guilty of stealing access to a meighbour's network.

So don't get caught!

If people are daft enough not to protect their WiFi then they should expect others will piggy back on their service. I have my own at home but find I can also access to two other local networks that are not protected - so on occasions when I have had connection problems with my own service I have used these.

Do you have a link to the piece Slinky if not I will Google it when I have some time?

Hope the house move goes well VS045.

That comes later down the list although I notice in this list moving house is not mentioned. Certainly in the list we used in HR it was ranked either 2 or 3 and death of a partner was also ranked around 4 or 5

Ok GJ just to brighten it up a bit.

I found the best way to move house.

Hire people to come in, pack up everything, move it all to the new home, then unpack everything...whilst I sat next to the pool and caught a few rays.

You should ask them if they have the 15/5 package there, not something they ever advertise, but if your home has a good enough connection they will sell it to you.

This house is part of the first phase of fiber optic cable they are installing through the valley, the speeds they are promising me have me drooling....file sharing king of the world, who needs to pay $400 a month for T3 speeds [y]:D

Thanks everyone - the internet is now finally up and running. Funny; BT said it would be done last Tuesday...[:?]

GJ, I'm moving all of about 7 miles closer to your hallowed ground out of about 300:D

So I managed two weeks without v-flyer and with minimal withdrawal symptoms;)
