April Fools' Day

I enjoyed an article in the Guardian yesterday recounting some of the best April Fools' Day jokes published/broadcast in recent years. The one about the M25 running all in one direction on different days of the week was good, especially when (alledgedly) some wrote into the newspaper that published it saying "I use the M25 to go shopping, it used to be a 3 mile journey, now it'll be 117 miles ... I'm outraged"!

So, in the spirit of good April Fools' Day I look forward to hearing all of tomorrow's jokes, as well as good ones from years past [:p]

On a similar vein, over here there was an article saying that Ireland was going to start driving on the right in line with other European countries and it was going to be trialled for 6 months in County Kerry. A number of people wrote in and rang the Department of Transport asking what happened at the county bounds [:w]

When I was a nipper I alternated each year by waking mum up and said I'd been sick all over the bed or that the fish tank had broke and spilt fish al over the lounge.

I'd just thought up a good one for Aer John and was about to put it into operation but just realised it is March 31st. [:0]

So did anyone spot any?? In world we live in sometimes its difficult to know what is a spook and what isnt?

I dont think anyone has put spoof post on here - but you never know?

I saw two articles in the Sunday Times - one about planes gliding into Auckland airportand another about standing on an aircraft? I think they are both "suspicious" Mind you - it could be the Air Cymru story and the new airline operating out of Cardiff called "Flyforbeans" - with the slogan - "where have you bean lately"!!

Oh and just spotted Grommit to replace Nipper in the main paper? Blimey - its hard to know if its true or not?

Like you I wondered about the two articles in the Travel section but the only clear one I spotted was on the BBC News website which was a take on the old "smellyvision" spoof. Not very clever at all. [V]

Story is also reported in Travelmole dated 29th march and stuff.co.nz on the 29th; Also N/Z Herald reports the story on the 28th of March. By Australian Pacific time story posted at 5am on Wednesday march 28th so that would have made it approx 6pm on Tuesday 27th march G.M.T
