My son who has just graduated from Uni has been offered employment in Chesham, Bucks with an IT company.

I know it's a long shot but does anyone know this or a commutable surrounding area that may be good for short term rental of studio or one bed flats.

I've had a look on rightmove etc. but am at a loss as to which areas may be suitable. He does drive and has transport, unfortunately used to the finer things in life but as long as the area is safe it would be OK.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Hi Jilly

Chesham and its surrounding areas are actually very nice, however if the rental market is a reflection of the buyers market then you will find some quite vast differences in cost even within a short radius. The prices tend to stay high because its actually on the end of a London Tube Line and therefore easily commutable as well as a lot of the villages being really nice places to live. I cant actually think of anywhere particularly to avoid as being unsafe. If you find somewhere in your budget let me know where and I will try and assist further.

Cheers

Thanks Mark - we're going down there at the weekend to have a look around as we don't know the area at all. We did used to live in Bucks (Olney) but that was nearly 20 years ago now and I'm sure a lot has changed since then.

I'll send you a PM if we find something that may be suitable for him. Thanks again.

I consulted for an IT firm in Chesham very briefly about 6 years ago, and used to own a house in Pitstone. I'm by no means an expert on the area but also happy to give you my $0.02 when you find a place for him.

Thanks,
Sarah
