Well the day has finally arrived and the Comedy Channel is screening the world premiere of the Pam Ann Show this evening.

Should we watch - or will it be too sanitised and take away the frankness of the live show?

Will keep you posted.

Well mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

The brashness and crudeness of the live show were ever present. However it doesn't really fit a 30min TV slot. The show was 'themed', as in a destination, and had chat, gameshow and song elements, as well as - not sure if staged - bewildering Oz zlebs with the, excuse the expression, ins and out of gay slang.

I would put it in the mildly amsuing category - and would even go so far as to slightly sully her.

Sorry Pam - but I will still come to your live shows.

I think the problem is that she has built a reputation and a big loyal following so they have put together countless stage shows, appearences, and now a TV show.

The problem is that Pam Ann is a cabaret act, it works at its best in a small live venue with everyone getting slowly drunk as the afternoon / night goes on. Lots of ad-libbing, no worries about offending anyone, no restrictions on language and lots of audience interaction.

All the best Pam Ann moments for me (with the exception of the dwarf on the DVD) are when we've seen her live in bars around London. The stage shows are ok, but too forced to work as well.

I agree - I saw her three times last year - once in Croydon and twice in gar bars around Town; she was far and beyond better in the gay bars with the intimate atmospher and the audience quietly getting plastered
