Wow - check you people out booking your flights already!

Time waits for no man!

a) I see you're flying from LGW on the direct flight to LAS, not wanting to visit the brand new fully expaned CH in LHR? ;) No seriously, LGW is lovely CH, and Linda and her team will look after you well.

Tis a pity that I still have not had the opportunity to sample the LHR offering, but the LGW CH is great and the itinerary seems to have been agreed as LGW-LAS, and that seems sensible as the fun begins in LAS - it saves another internal flight. And are you forgetting the delights of a 14 seat UC cabin? :)

So you will be partaking of stronger substances for this social?

It should come as no surprise that Nottingham Nick's bag carrier is "in". Looking forward to seeing you all.

I just found out this morning, the Strat is going to be under going a major expansion.Upper managment has decided to add 2100 rooms..I had a minor heart attack when I found out fearing that the hotel/casino would be a building site while you guys were here.I guess they are going to go public with this in a week or so,so I figured I would let everyone know right now.

The new hotel tower is going to be placed on the east side of LAs Vegas Blvd,at this time the main hotel tower sit's on the west side, meaning ( I was promised)there will be no disruption or disturbance caused by this.Just wanted to let everyone know before someone asked.

I hope to be running the NYC marathon on Sunday 6th Nov... :)

So, if that is the case, I would think a recovery :D trip for me & the wife to Vegas + San Fran as highly probable...

I will know about the NYC entry during the month of May... After that I will look at the travel alternatives still available [y]

I trust it is OK to leave it until then for a definitive answer [?]

Yes, no problem. One of the advantages of leaving people to make their own travel arrangements, is that we are not hassling people for deposits etc.

Obviously, it is a lot better for us when it comes to sorting out events and excursions during the trip if we have an idea of numbers. So for that reason, I would encourage people to commit themselves as soon as they can.

We have a 'block booking' of rooms in the Stratosphere, which will be held till October - if they don't sell out first ;)

I will be contacting those who have expressed interest soon by PM with the booking code needed to get the great room rates (Thanks to jetwet1)

Just as a heads up..Vegas at that time is pretty slow..I dont think there will be a problem if more than 20 room's are needed.

Count me in for some part of the trip -- work permitting, of course. A great idea and MANY places in Vegas for us to have a "social" one will likely not soon forget!

Same here, Buns. Still would like to do the "boneyard" tour at LAS if there's sufficient interest.

Phil & James,
Michael and Bazz had expressed interest as well; my guess is that among the VS loyalists in Vegas we could get a good group together. As we firm up the trip, let's keep the idea alive, okay?

Flights Booked! Out on the 7 to LAX on 01/11/05 (unfortunately the 7 will be serviced by an A340 same as the 23 [n]).
Back SFO-LHR on the 20 on 12/11/05 - same as mitchja and onionz :D and all in UC ;)

We will be driving out to LAS on the 08/11/05 and probably hop on an HP to SFO on the morning of the 12th, have to allow enough time fof the CH :)[^][y]

Last one at the bar pays :D

Should be a great trip James, Buns should be on the flight too I think going by his earlier posts.

Onionz has invited him to the CH so may I be the first to invite him to have a drink at the UC bar once we are on the 20 (with the FSM's permission, of course ;))

We need a few more now, Michael where are you?

Great news Bazz! [y][8D] V-Flyer are taking over that port side.

I hope VS spot this unprecedented situation and perhaps even lay a few surprises in store for us!

Can I echo Bazz's call for extras to join us before it fills up!? Surely Mike isn't going to miss an opportunity for blue drinks?:)

A good question, Dave.

So far only about half a dozen have actually taken the plunge and booked their flights - several (myself included) will be booking the flights soon. It seems a few are holding off for various reasons, but I am confident we will get a sizeable crowd - including most (if not all) of the 'usual suspects'.

We may not know firm numbers for a while now. This is a down side of leaving everyone to make their own travel arrangements.

Mitchja and onionz, you guys going to put your flights in the Events and Itineraries calendar? It would be nice to see the build up on "The Social" flights taking shape [8D]
