I have been to the show once before ages ago - I need to suss out with the boss (Mrs Lewis) as to what we need to do and when we need to do it - might be better to be one of the taxis and watch it with a beer in my hand as the planes fly over Jacq's garden - slowly truning the roast pig - or whatever with my foot!!!!

Ha

Would I be pushing my luck if I asked whether you have any veggie treats planned? Don't mind doing my stint turning the pig, just please don't make me swallow! ;)

All, I'm sorry but I am having to bow out of this one. Was really looking forward to finally meeting most/all of you, but Mrs B has been really inconsiderate and been appointed bridesmaid for her friends wedding on the Sunday. (Yeah, strange day for a wedding I know). Tried to tell her I would go on the Sat on my own, but she needs me to ferry her about. Michael I've sent you a PM to take me off the list for this one. So I will have to make it to another jolly sometime soon.

Have fun the rest of you.

Pix - my wife doesnt eat red meat and my sister is a vegetarian and I have been cooking for them on many occasions - so you will be cared for!!!! Have no fear - there will be things that will be OK for you with no meat products used - just to check - you ar eOk with dairy products tho>?

And I think the plan will be to make it a party with BBQ food - prob without having an actual BBQ - its easier to do, and less mess and fuss!! - and smoke

Oh and its OK Pete - you can spit!![:p]

OK count me in.I mean, how could I turn down crocodile steaks. I will adjust the opening list accordingly.

Given that it is unlikely that we are going to stick to one and a half pints each, are we going to gang up on some hotel for a decent rate?

Could you give me your idea of 'not too pricey' and also mention any chains that you'd prefer, plus max distances from F'Boro?

Cheers,

As much as we would like to attend the airshow and Jaq''s BBQ I don't think we can quite swing it(for now) as we are flying over for the Riverboat Bash the following weekend.

However I am sure the hangovers will have cleared up by then:D

Looking forward to seeing everyone there.

I, don't know really. People have seemed happy enough paying 50 or 60 quid before. As to chains, do they do miles :)

For everyone's information. I just recieved an email about the Farnborough Enthusiast's day on Friday 21st July.

Details here.

One of the interesting tidbits in this line:

"The Trade day activities are extended on this special Friday to incorporate extra features and an enhanced flying display including the world famous Red Arrows and the A380 Super Ð Jumbo, giving its first public UK demonstration."

Phil

P.S. I'm not suggesting we go on Friday by the way but some of us mad nutters might quite fancy a day without crowds aswell.
