Sorry John, I have to completely disagree with you here.
Despite the best efforts of certain governments,

we still live in a world where we have choice.
I made a decision a long time ago that I wouldn't fly Ryanair, unless I had to, for all sorts of other reasons. Having said that, I wouldn't blame people who cross them of their own list of 'approved carriers' because of this incident.
Saying that it is okay because the aircraft and crew were leased just doesn't cut it for me. When the pax bought their tickets, they believed they were flying Ryanair, so - in my book, it is Ryanair that are culpable.
IMHO to land at the wrong airport is unforgivable, when you think about 'what might have happened' it is quite scary.
The fact that they then made
a joke of it, and tried to milk the incident for publicity, makes me even more determined that I won't be flying with them.

BTW, to answer your original question... if a VS plane 'accidentally' landed at the wrong airport, then I would also seriously consider changing my transatlantic carrier of choice.
